Hell to the NO- everytime he has stepped it up he has lost.
Fury, Klitchko, Helinuis, and of course, Dave my toe hurts Haye, and to make matters worse the guy is a clown outside the ring.
He is a 90's version of Joe Hipp, with of course the ****ed up attitude.

Have you seen Chisora vs. Helenius? :think

As for Chisora vs. Fury, that is widely considered to be the worst version of Chisora to set foot in the ring and perhaps the best of Fury (or certainly the night of his life until that point) - so a rematch in the years since - right up to present day - could well go differently. In fact, I would favor Chisora by stoppage at the moment.

So that leaves Klitschko and Haye to decisively beat him with no ifs ands or buts. Two of the era's three best HWs. That isn't exactly anything to hang one's head about.

I could imagine chisora beating leon spinks in a fantasy match up....so, for me, I think it shows that IF chisora was in the right place at just the right time, then maybe ...but a hell of a big 'if'

Of those, I've seen the Scott and Gerber fights. To his credit, he has been looking better at a lower weight. I'm not trying to knock the guy just because, don't get me wrong.
But until he beats someone of true merit who isn't washed up, then it's hard for me to give him the nod against most heavyweight champions, even poor ones such as Leon Spinks.

I mean yeah, someone like Tommy Burns I can see but Burns wasn't a heavyweight.

You never cease to amaze me.

Chisora did anything but "ok"... He got absolutely destroyed.

He got clowned, got the **** knocked out of him, then got the consciousness knocked out of him.

Yeah Dave, but Haye is a superhuman demi-god, remember? No mere mortal can stand up to him. (Except Wlad, but he's even more of a superhuman demi-God.)

We have to give Chisora a lot of credit for going almost a whole five with such a beast. ;)

I could see him beating Jeffries, Burns, Sharkey, Dempsey, Baer, Braddock, Charles, Walcott, Spinks... but no one of any real note.

No matter. He took it there. We have reached the point of no return.

My New Year's resolution... Don't be a dick.

But seriously, a big strong guy with a bit of pop can get lucky any night. It happens. I has happened. A properly motivated Chisora is enough if he is in there on the right night. Would I bet on him to become champ? No. But if Rex Layne can beat Walcott, and Jim Flynn can beat Dempsey, and Tommy Burns is still a midget Cannuck, then Chisora has a chance.

Some fair points, mate. Elroy gets stick on here(rightly so, the ****!) but I kind of agree that we shouldn't pan all heavies of today as a matter of course. There have been lousy heavyweights through history.

I strongly doubt it, I think Chisora no matter what time he came around would be a solid fighter but I don't think he is championship material. I'd say hes in the same class as guys like Bonecrusher Smith, Berbick, Orlin Norris etc, so potentially if he got a shot at the right time on a given night he could capture a belt but I doubt he'd be able to defend or defeat any real good fighters.

depends who promotes him during what era. Yes chisora has lost to the best guys hes faced, but remember hes only had like 20 fights, you could argue he was thrown in early with the wolves.

i can see him beating someone like Bruce Seldon and picking up a belt

Chisora vs Moorer would be interesting
if he did manage to win a belt i don't think hed hold it for very long.

that idiot elroy mentioned chisora would do well in the 70s, can you imagine Chisora vs Foreman?
