Teke ,its being called battle hardened mate , If Mundine is getting in so much quality sparring with Les , the boys & Roy how come he looked **** last time out ? The reason this hasn't become apparent in his last few fights v Rico , Pedro etc is because he hasn't been in with anyone with sufficient class to trouble him ,that will change when he gets back up to the standard he should be fighting at . Hope this has helped ..

He didnt look like **** in his last fight, he looked quite good imo. His adoption of becoming more flat footed laying down more fiz in his punches suits him.

So you cant get battle hardened in training aye?

At worst decent sparring can't be working against you.

I hear this this issue raised all the time for many fighters of the past ie. his past competition will be his downfall in this fight...

The lead up to Joes fight with Lacy, many posters said the same thing about Joe (myself included), he goes out and whips him then everyone is shocked :yikes

Teke ,IMO Mundine looked terrible last time out but put that down to the fact that he was giving his mate from down the mousqe a pay day and yes i 100% think you have to be in a real fight to get that mental and physical toughness to take on the worlds best , You are obviously a sporting fella ,What contact sport have you ever participated in where training was better preperation to a Match / Fight than a full contact no holes barred proper fight or match , when i boxed as an amature no amount of sparring could substitute the real thing , Same as when i played rugby ,No amount of training games or senarios could substitute match day experience . Froch will find this out against Inkin and Mundine will find this out next time he steps out of the comfort zone ,Ie fighting @ world class level .

Take rugby for example. You dont just make up attacking drills on game day, you practise and practise and practise until it is perfected. Training in my opinion should be hard for preparation for the real thing doesnt matter what sport it is. Tyson never took training easy, he went all out on his sparring partners.

Do you follow union and if so who do you support? :yep

Teke i followed and played rugby union all my life until recently , when it went full time pro i just lost intrest as i though the the newly formed districts were paying too much money for low class punks to play for them ,If pushed i support a club i played for as a kid ( Cardiff ) and when the six nations is on i obviously support Wales ,But liker i said Union ain't my top sport currently as over the last five or so years ive rediscovered my love of Boxing ,I fought as an amature but was if im honest ****ing shite at it , won more than lost but shite all the same ,As for the tackle bags in training i hated them ,No substitute for the real thing as i was a full back all my life and i found tackling was always a do or die situation in that position ( I have the scars and bent nose to prove this ) lol Surly you know in either sport there is no substitute for the real situation be it in the ring or on the pitch ,Ps ive been laughing my bollocks off on the side reading Oz's rumour thread about your leauge players and their off pitch antics, maybe i should have emigrated to Aussie when i had the chance back in the late 80's ,i would have fitted in rather well down under back in those days . lol

 Me too! We'll not all my life, only four years at high school.

 I played for NSW Public Schools and got to go to Canberra and Western Australia. I supported the Australian that won the World Cup a few times.

    Me too!

:huh I thought you were a REAL FAN OF BOXING, not an "on again, off again" critic.

:happy Now unlike you, I ain't going to call you a bull**** artist...yet.

 Well **** me, I played No.15 too !! This is amazing, but I'm still as good looking as ever!!! Maybe you should have learnt how to tackle with your head to the side and kick in attack instead of running into the forwards...

Good fullbacks know how to tackle and tactically kick (among other things.)

:huh Pitch? when did cricket come into this?

 No you wouldn't because that's when I played and even though I was a teenager I would've ****ing destroyed you...drunken bull**** artist.

You sir are a keyboard commando nothing more. And FYI we call a rugby field a pitch over here in the UK, since the language you *******ise was originally created here we must be right.

That is a possibility but since the entire language was concieved here it really doesn't matter what came first as the meaning is the still the same.

    Tough guy, me? Nah.

I did have lamb cutlets for dinner. Do you get lamb cutlets in Wales?

BTW, I aint the one abusing Sonni behind the saftey of my keyboard. I doubt that anyone that has posted on that thread would say any of that **** to his face.

Nah, no reason to play the tough guy here, not with the opposition anyway....

Oh yeah, it's good to see a real fan of boxing rediscover his love for it. :patsch

:patsch Love the style of that sonnie pity he cant box a little aye ?, as for rediscovering my love of boxing ,Yea it had to take a back seat when the kids were young as it was getting too expensive traveling around following the sport but that never stopped me from watching local fighters . now with the kids grown up i have more time to sit back and watch the fights and your fellow countryman expose you as nothing more than a Mundine fan boy/Key board Warrior . Ps enjoy your curried lamb fella :bbb , Regards polite Josey Wales
