Let's not bull**** around. Calzaghe fought Tocker Pudwill in his 13th defence of his title. After that he has fought guys like Mger Mkrtchian and Kabary Salem as well as Ashira, Manfredo and Bika !!!

Danny Green's four fights after his loss to Choc would all get beaten by Soliman or Hamdan.

The point is that there was no reason for Joe to fight these guys who were far from champion quality with such vast pro and amateur experience that Joe had under his belt. More important is the fact that CALZAGHE HAD CHAMPIONS CALLING HIM OUT WHICH HE FLATLY REFUSED....for Choc that's not the case.

Mundine has decided to fight Sam 3 months after Hamdan, which tells you simply that he wants another fight ASAP.

Why do you think that it is? If he didn't want big fights he'd stall and have these fights 8-12 months apart like some guys do (THINK ABOUT THAT BEFORE YOU RESPOND). No, he's trying to get as many rounds in before he goes off to fight abroad and the feeling is that after this fight he'll be ready to go.

    :huh

The bad thing for Calzaghe is that Ashira, Mandredo and Bika are NOT his worst fights (well maybe Manfredo, but at least Ashira was a former world champ and Bika has been doing decent things as of late). Hell, he even "defended" his title against Ricky Thornberry (a DISTANCE fight at that), whereas Mundine stopped him after only 15 fights...

So I'd put him (Thornbery) above those other three, as I would the following other Calzaghe victims: Branko Sobot, Tocker Pudwill and even guys like Jimenez, McIntyre and Ferreyra had blown up European records and were either shut-out or brtually stopped EVERY time they fought a "decent" fighter.

Also, I'd rate Mundine as Kessler's best WIN as to date, imHo

Ko Boxing , Dont be too hard on Rick Thornberry mate he was tough and 35 years old in his last ever fight when choc be him , Also Mcintyre was a mandatory and Cazaghe fought him on neutral ground in Denmark and put him on his arse for the first time in a 30 fight career that he'd only lost in twice , Moving on to this "Joke Fighter " Tocker pudwill , well fair go to Tocker as he stepped into the fight as a late replacement for Thomas Tate who **** his pants and called off with 7 days to go before the fight . Tocker also went the distance with Ottke in a title fight where as Mundine couldn't so all in all Calzaghe's record ain't as bad as you and Ajay are making out .

So...will Choc want to fight Kessler, in a couple of months, in his own backyard or, why not, even in Denmark? Or is Kessler ducking him?

    :D

    ...

Wasn't trying to make Calzaghe's record looks bad (imo, it does that itself, but that's another topic). Was just replying to a comment that Bika, Manfredo and Ashira were his worst opponents. I personally beg to differ. That's all.

Calzaghe's resume is certaintly superior to that of Mundine's, 100%. But then again, apart from over-the-top nuthuggers, no one claims Mundine is a top ten p4per and even claim him to be the best fighter of this generation (as some do for Calzaghe, which is a joke).

And I still rate Mundine as his (Kessler's) best win. I'd love Mundine to get a fight with Andrade (won't happen)... I see him winning a 116-112 type decision.

:good :good Yes i agree Calzaghe has had a few stinkers along the way but i would class him as one of the best of his generation due to to fact that he has finally started fighting more than mediocre challengers ie Lacy , kessler , Hopkins and maybe Pavlik etc , The Problem Mundine has as far as reputaion is concerned is that the world knows he should be fighting at a higher level than he seems content in fighting at , If i was Mundine i would be busting a gut to get in with Bute instead of ripping all the fans down under off by fighting sam again . everyone that has seen him fight knows he has talent ive never disputed this point either , He should just get a wiggle on if he's going to be remembered worldwide . Ajay seems to think Mundine is the best P4P @ Middler and s/Middle and he then goes on to try and discredit Calzaghe in a attempt to prove his point .
