True so we shouldnt get any hopes. In my opinion Mundine probably loved the whole Dela Hoya experience and took his words to heart in hopes to break into the US Market but when the US dust settles and they have time to think about it and work around their goals.........-----> Nothing will probably happen :-(

Disappointed fan here, imo he could KO Pacman :yep

I havent seen Mundine's fight with Kim, but during his last few fights that I've seen (Hamden, ect), he's been hit too often, well, hit more that his usual evasive self is used to anyway.

I think he's past his peak. A win against Sturm is still achievable, though thats about all he'll achieve from now on, imo.

I dont think Choc wanted any piece of Kessler the 2nd time around.

Wouldnt exactly say he was scared but I think he knew from a business point of view he couldnt afford another loss. Obviously he wasnt to confident of victory in that one.

Exactly what is was, he is not scared of anyone he or his manager or both just want no more losses. Fair enough if thats what you want but you will only tip toe to a great status with that thought.

Although this news is a positive step forward, sadly i think Choc has missed the boat. Having lunch with the goldenboy after he beat Green wld have been perfect but not now, he's going to be a knock out waiting to happen against the big boys.

BTW Just imagine how much he's skills and speed will decline by 2010?

I wonder what names they are talking about at MW?

Lacy, Manfredo? these guys aint in the same division.

Maybe its Griffen or Mcgirt....are they he big in the USA.....not that big.

I dont see Mundine building a profile in the US against US fighters.

He needs Geale then Sturm before he gets a shot at the big fights.

Last week, George Reno was saying Mundine should be facing the winner of Sturm v Sylvester after his November bout. So if he does that, wins the WBA crown and then heads to the states for a couple of voluntary defenses against medium ranked fighters like an Espino etc, then that could work well to get a fight with the likes of a Pavlik.

Was exactly what I thought as I read the Sun Herald :yep

Agree that he should have done this earlier but at least he's over in the US training at the right places and talking to the right people.

    Better late than never.

Won't be long before Golden Boy Promotions become the No.1 people to deal with so I wouldn't downplay the meet.

Again it proves that he is doing his best to get the big US fights, not avoiding them.

    Risk outweighed reward.

Had he beat Kessler after his loss to Calzage there would have been those who wouldn't rate the win as high as they should.

Also, where would he go next? His position wouldn't have been that different where as a loss would have been devestating for his career.

    Risk outweighed reward.

Anthony 'The Man' Mundine is likely to be introduced to US audiences by a new ring name if plans for him to fight next year on a card promoted by boxing great Oscar De La Hoya come to fruition.

They've got a different name for me over here, Mundine told the Herald's Brad Walter after meeting De La Hoya and representatives of his company, Golden Boy Promotions, in Los Angeles last week.

They call me The Wonder From Down Under. But everyone knows that. It ain't nothing new.

The meeting, organised by Russell Crowe, stemmed from a joke between the Oscar winner and Mundine's manager, Khoder Nasser, and was initially intended as an introduction over lunch. But plans are advanced for Mundine to have possibly two fights in the US next year to help set up a big money bout in 2010.

The Wonder From Down Under!.....I seriously want to throw up!
