After the Sturm VS Sylvester fight in a few weeks wont Mundine become the next in line 4 the title?

Anybody know how much time the WBA give until the mandatory comes up?

Actually, after the Danny Green win, Kessler didn't show as much interest in the fight. It was smart to let him try to unify, and then give him a run. He lost. So it never happened.

If you think Froch has the skills to land and beat Mundine, i think your in for a bit of a shock. Hes rather a limited fighter.

Whos Ajay? (Actually, hes that guy who gave those horse tips), no im not him. I hate horses.

WBA MW Title. (End goal), why fight John Duddy? Or some other middleweight contender, when you can fight a 50 rated fighter and still be the next mandatory for Sturm?

At the latest - mid next year. Probably March.

According the to WBA's website BTT, Sturms last mandatory was this time in 07. Sylvester is the next one, therefore theoretically he shouldnt have to fight Mundine till this time next year.

I really doubt they would risk Choc as an voluntary and Sturm turned down 1.5 million Euro to fight Abraham, so I dont think their finiancial pull is that weak.

Would Khoder and Choc fork out the several million it would probably take to get Sturm down here? Would any promoter in the states do the same?
Would he take a massive pay cut to fight Sturm in Germany? Which I thought might be the most likely scenario, so I dont know if Team Sturm would even put an offer out there if they knew anything about the ability of Mundine.

Thats where De La Hoya comes in. Sturms team believe this is a 50-50 fight. No doubt about that.

But i think the pull of being on a HBO card should do it for Sturm. Possibly having Pavlik on the same card vs Abraham could be a go.

Obviously nothing is advanced, for something this far down the track.

But if the two meet, i do think Choc is walking away with the title even in Germany.

If Choc can make 160 with little impact on his health and strength this fight is a foregone conclusion. Sturm is about as average and run of the mill as you get for a titlist.

De la Hoya would help immensely but I think he has plenty of other cash cows that he would rather pour resources into. Im sceptical at the moment.

With Hopkins about to retire. And Calzaghe retiring. And Kessler having maybe 3 fights left. And Pavlik having 4 fights left (Both Pavlik and Kessler have mentioned early retirements), there are not any truely great fighters across MW or SMW, or really anyone who can reign for a long period of time.

I think its a matter of time until Pavlik gets his first loss.

We have a fairly even playing field.

And Choc hasn't taken any real punishment throughout his career, he could outlast the lot.

Either way, if he does well (which he can), if he performs well, its a win for Golden Boy. If they build him up, and he gets knocked out, which could happen, another win for Golden Boy!

Either way Golden Boy Promotions Win.

This is what I am "guessing" will unfold...... knowing the way the WBA operates....if Sturm wins they may give him super champ status and hold a regular world title between Mundine and Griffin in the USA....... promoted by ODH.....anybody see that coming off?

He needs to have another major title to become one im pretty sure.

AA and Kelly currently own the others.

    You have a good imagination.

I really can't see that coming off. Even if it did, it wouldn't be that bad.
