Just words at a media conference on the eave of a fight. He lost me at the media portraying him in a bad light. As already mentioned the context is something when viewed as a whole is difficult to manipulate to much. You need to include tone and demenaor and unfortunatley for me this overlayed with his origibal comments didn't sit easy for me. In hindsight we can all make apologies but contrition is what counts....that means sucking it up and taking it on the chin. To dilute his own comments and spread the blame over the media to simply tarnish his name is very petty and smacks of someone who really can't own up.

OK. Thanks Zoley. My point is he doesnt 'man' up and own his comments and instead dismisses them using a politicians line 'out of context'. I respect if he said that he no longer feels that way he did when he made them.

Exactly. He is almost appologising for the media 'twisting' his words.

    No worries Bruiser,
One thing we all agree on is that Choc is not and never will be the sharpest tool in the shed.
His choice of words were to say the least poor, but in saying that, i never got the impression that he was glad the act of terrorism happened.
He has been winding people up long before he entered into pro boxing, so i suppose when you play that game your choice of words will come back and bite you in the arce more often than not.

Tell me how the **** his words could be taken out of context...

WIn 2001, Mundine commented on the September 11, 2001 attacks. He criticised the American Government, claiming that its foreign policies had helped to foster an environment in which terrorism could flourish. When asked about what he thought about Australian troops joining Americans in Afghanistan he stated:

"I really feel that it's not our problem. They call it an act of terrorism but if you understand the religion and our way of life it's not about terrorism, it's about fighting for God's laws and America's brought it upon themselves [for] what they've done in history and so on"

Also..convenient how when he was building up the Aboriginality of himself and his father and how tough he had it... how he overlooked the fact that his **** of a father was running the "Protection Rackets" around the Redfern area and was responsible for having property destroyed and people bashed...****S....Like father like son

The dumb **** should have had more brains! He was on his way to Germany,150 Germans and a few Australian died that day. What did he expect people to do. The he tried to say he was misquoted.

Why after 10 years has he chosen to apologize now? Because it suits his own purposes that's why. No other reason.

Poor apology made 10 years too late.
