Mundine will never fight in USA.

It all comes down to maths people.

Mosley was paid 600k to fight Alvarez yesterday, Alvarez was paid a little over 1 million. Both figures fall short of what Mundine earns in AUS fighting bums. So it all comes down to simple math and economics. The only reason he spouts Cottos name, Mayweather, Alvarez etc is to keep people intrested, you can only fight so many bums before people begin to switch off.

Conclusion, this isnt a sport for Mundine, its a bussiness venture, always has been, he is a no name in USA and would be lucky to be paid what mosley was paid the other night, he just wont do it, he wouldnt even do it for trout so he could have a world title so he sure as sht wont step up and fight the names he mentions for 600k or less.

Yes this is correct. But many on here and Oz in general either don't realise or ignore the simple facts. When Mundine fights its his promotion, no 30-40% cut to promoters. On top of this Mundine puts bums on PPV, and it creates $.

Why would Mundine fight in the US for a paycut. He would have to pay promoter, or more like promoter pays him. Mundine may have been seeing what he could come up with in the US with a bit of mouth. He has said he would only fight in US if he gets OZ PPV. Seeing as this is where most his money comes from in OZ then he would make apx same money for having a shot at something. But this deal has not opened.

Its dog eat dog in the fight game. People on here think just because Geale has the IBF title its his ticket to glory and cash. How wrong this is.

I agree with you. Where the hell would the million be coming from. People in Australia don't follow boxing at all. Can't imagine they would sell hardly any ppv these days even to the dumb bogan league fans. Surely even those idiots have wised up to getting ripped off for viewing a joke product.

 

well if Garth Wood recons he made 1 million out of Mundine fights and would not have got any better than 30% then Mundine would have done pretty well. But Wood would have been talking that up.

But you hear its 50% of PPV after production costs, which is about 100k for an NRL game so about the same. Mundine-Green was 150k PPV, Mundine-Echols 60k then I guess Mundine-Wood II would have been about 40k PPV buy. $50 x 40,000 = $2 million, div 50% minus 100k production = 900k. Mundine pays Wood (its Boxa promotion) then Mundine makes about 700k.

And then there is the pubs.

 

40k ppv buys for households in Oz for Mundine-Woods. No fricken way imo. No one follows boxing at all in this country.

 

The guy is a joke, he had a chance to win a legitimate title against trout and blew it, he brings nothing to the table in terms of fighting the guys he mentions, they most likely dont even know Mundine exists. He has no fan base in USA and is resented in that country due to his anti 9/11 comments.

So how the fck is this halfwit going to conqure americas boxing scene when he backs out of legitimate world title fights? The he makes up some bullsht deal he has with dunkin, 3 month contract, its been 3 months and nothing. Mundine is all smoke and mirrors and basicly a fraud.

production costs for a boxing show on Mainevent isnt 100k either, more around the 50k mark, Anton knows the exact figure but its no where near 100k. Mundine is also sponsord by his own clothing brand which he sells at every promotion of his. He dont pay undercard fighters, costs are pretty much his opponent and a hand full of tickets to pay the undercard fighters.

The guys been making close to or at the very least, 1 mill per fight since he debut. The fights he hasnt made as much are the ones he has had to pay big money to get out here, like Kessler for example, he dont like taking a pay cut so thats why we wont see him bring out a fighter the likes of a kessler again, its all bussiness and the names he sprukes are just to keep intrest and keep the fools buying his shows. he knows theres a fool born every second and he preys on this, first it was hate now its this bullsht. he wants us all to think that cotto, mayweather and co are all ducking him when in reality they dont even know who the fck he is lol

Rekons he can beat mayweather but wont fight Trout? .. says it all really. half the fault is the media, guys like Geale may actually make some money if the media got behind him as much as they do Mundine. and u dont have to trash talk, KT never trash talked and he was a sensation, but he didnt have guys like Green and Mundine hogging all the lime light with fringe titles. i guess it also helped that he punched the **** out of his opponents rather than giving them a boxing lesson as geale does but id ask you this, is mundine more exciting to watch than geale? i would say no, then why is it our media get behind this fckwit more than they do a legit contender in geale? its sad really and not only hurts the sport but it hurts blokes like geale who give it there all and make this a career in fighting, not acting.

 

Ty calm down please. Anthony Mundine is just a troll/wum. He is like most of the posters on here, wind up merchants. It's all tongue-in-cheek stuff and always has been with him since he found out 6 yrs or so ago that he can't cut it at the a grade level in boxing.

Don't get so worked up about it. I know, you know, and everyone who has followed the sport of boxing for more than 2 seconds knows that he has been a joke these last 5 yrs and is a nobody in the world of boxing.
