Ahhhhhhh yes Grapes, splended. It's not aload of ****, Coco flavnoids are more potent than Vitamin C or citrus bioflavnoids, or whatever gay ass antioxidants are found in most fruits. You could easily drink afew cups of hot coco throughout the day. Easy
Nope. There is nothing special or magical about the antioxidants in cocoa, they're phytochemicals from a bean. Not much different to the phytochemicals found in fruits. In fact quite comparable if you'd concentrate it. It's a concentrate and as such stronger, like cinnamon for example. But you'd eat it in smaller amounts as a result. The antioxidants in a cocoa bean are there to keep the bean from oxidising, just like the ones in fruit are there to keep the fruit from oxidising. There's no such thing as magic food Theo, despite you hopping from one perceived superfood to the other. Sure you could, but it wouldn't amount to 100 grams of cocoa a day.
YES!!!! the one they had was in a plastic pouch and 16 ounces for close to $20. i did the conversion by hand and its close to twice as much cocoa as the one you used, but still!!!!!
From oxidising....... Like when you cut a apple in half and watch it turn brown. Thats the apple oxidising. Fair enough RDJ, i need to read up abit more. I have flashes of greatness, but i cannot sustain the constant flow of knowledge. All i'm saying is that the coca antixodants are very powerfull. And they are more potent than Vitamin C & E.
I know you just googled that afew seconds ago, because i did aswell. If it's not in the fruit part of the supermarket, as far as i'm concerned its not a fruit.
Correct. The apples antioxidants are in it's outer layer. When it falls, or when you punch it, you damage that layer and the apples inside (the flesh) will start to oxidise. Take a berry, say a blackberry. To keep it from oxidising it needs to sacrifice something to the "free radicals". It needs a steady supply of antioxidants for that, provided by the plant it's growing on. The moment you cut it loose it will begin the oxidation process. The trick is to eat it as fresh as you can so you can use those antioxidants. Or to freeze it, because oxidation occurs very slow at low temperatures.
I didn't actually, but it's not really relevant either. All plants handle oxidisation in the same way, it doesn't matter if it's a bean, fruit, vegetable, bark, root, whatever. It's a plant part. Human beings parasite on plants for antioxidants as we can't make them ourselves.
We could set up a little ESB US/Doucheland import-export deal. :think We get pure cocoa and chocoladepindakoeken; you get...well, what do you want that we have and you don't? Miniature star spangled banners? Elvis Presley bobbleheads?
yes see it's a lot. it was one of the things i missed about being on vacation, the selection of goodies that are so inexpensive. you can still eat cheap here it's just the very basic essential foods like fruits and vegetables and select ones too, not all. blueberries for example are good but a little pricey for a small plastic container. IT, are you going to phantom gourmet?
They're expensive over here as well. Blackberries grow everywhere yet they cost 3 euro's for a small handful.
