He's from South Africa. Completely dismantled a good champ in Raul Garcia. Excellent boxer who has the size to move up. Too bad he fights very rarely in an unrecognized division far away from international boxing's attention but you'll find footage on him on youtube, just search for Nkosinathi Joyi.

 I completely missed that he was asking about Joyi.

He only put those four little letters in bold!

Salado, Rosas and Vargas? Decent fare, but that is at best.

Are there better fighters out there for him to face? Yes.
Would he like to face them? Sure he would.

He should be looking at Joyi, Segura, Calderon or any of the other quality contenders there are at junior fly.

I'm mystified as to why you don't understand why/how Gonzalez could step up his level of opposition.

At straw I don't know that there was a whole lot better while he was there. Now since moving up there is certainly opportunity to improve. :good I just don't feel that his competition of late has been anything less than good, and disagreed with the complete dismissal of everything he's done since Niida and Takayama.
