I thought the titles could only be contested by either someone from that region, or if the fight takes place in that region. a european would be neither.

It's not a title. It's not even a belt to hold his trousers up.

It would be nice if there was an established well know system i.e. Asians fight for this belt and it gets them a top 15 ranking then eliminator etc. Truth is, they make it up as they go along.

 

Let's be honest, no one is watching Choi because there,s a belt on the line!
