Enjoy, everyone. Park is one of my favorite fighters (Make fun if you'd wish!) and finding new footage of him is always a treat. For me anyway. This content is protected
I will not mince words The 168 Lb title was a joke when Park ruled. That said, I would like to see the tape of Park-Lindell Holmes.
One of my favs too. I have him and Baeks career sets. I really like and have a lot of career sets of Korean fighters. It started w these too then hearing about Yuh and Moon got theirs and loved them. Korean and Japanese Thailand fighters fight. Yoko Gushiken is my fav set. I love Park Sutherland and Baek Obel . the Korean crowds are great. I always wanted a hag hearns leonard whotaker jones etc to fight abroad like all the latin and Oriental fighter rs have
Park Sutherland is one of my top 10/15 favorite fights! Love that scrap. I've always had my eyes open for footage of Baek but it's pretty hard to come by much of anything honestly. Korean commentators and crowds are indeed great, I love the atmosphere. I just uploaded multiple Korean bouts to my youtube in the past week, maybe took a look if you get the chance!
Russell, truth is...I'm rediscovering all these Korean and Japanese greats you have in your threads...like Park, in this case...and Shozo Saijo...a guy I followed waaaay back in 1968....I knew of him back then...I was a mere fledgling boxing fan back then...'68 was a good year...I was stunned when the 6:00 sports news reported on Saijo vs Raul Rojas...they showed Saijo get decked by Rojas...but he got up and went on to win the WBA featherweight title....just keep up the great threads my man!!
I was a big fan of Doug. I watched him get to the final of the Commonwealth Games and he looked great until Jimmy Price ko'd him out of no-where. He also had a question mark on his durability. Not a bad pug tho.

This was one of the few times Park defended against a legitimate top 10 type. Despite being shorter, Holmes consistently outjabs Park. At te 25:56 mark, Holmes drops Park heavily with a succession of left hooks. Park looks more tired than hurt. He is already gassing. Park tries moving and boxing. He is busy, but most of what lands are pitty pat arm punches. Holmes stalks, outjabs Park, but loads up a bit too much. He lands the harder shots though. Park gets a second wind and Holmes, who has only been past 10 rounds once, begins to tire. Park hurts Holmes around the 54:00 mark. I am not sure what round it is but it's past the 10th but before the 15th. The video ends at the end of that round. It's not the end of the fight, though. Park is awarded a 15 round Split Decision.
He's a fun guy to watch...he's there to be hit, yet he keeps plowing in, lobbing in those body punches...
