Some if not most of the regulars on here will have seen my two "Top 50 Wins" threads, so I think it would be a good discussion to arrive at a General Forum consensus over what the top 20 from those 100 victories are.

Here are the links to the two original threads which contain information and explanation over each choice:

    - The Top 50 Wins of the 1990s

Great lists, I will try to make one of my own if I have some time between work.
If I may ask why dont you have pac-dlh as one of the 50 best wins of 00, despite oscar looking terrible it was still a 2 division jump from pacquiao and he put on a excellent boxing display while oscar was a clear favourite by anyone before the fight.
This fight gave pac superstar status and made him the force he is today at welter.

no one in their right mind can give pac credit for beating a DLH in that condition. he was literally a walking corpse. if you want to name a pac fight then it surely must be the first MAB fight

I agree. There were a couple of fights I would take off and replace with others such as the one you mentioned. It's his opinion, though. I'd like to make my own list as well, if I can find the time.

Mab is already listed and is thats normal but I think its kind of unfair how little praise pac gets for the oscar fight, I think if he would have not dominated him but lets say won a 116-112 117-115 decision everyone would say it was a epic win. Just because he made oscar look that bad gets him little credit. We cant overlook how he was a massive underdog coming in and what the fight ended up doing for his carreer.

Pac-Oscar was a very significant fight for Pac, but that is not strictly relevant to rating the quality of the win from an objective boxing perspective.

I think Pac-Oscar was a good win and a great performance, and it was in contention for the top 50, and I think it is generally underrated, but ultimately I decided against having it in the top 50.

People could legitimately argue that Mayweather-Corrales and Jones-Toney should not be in there either then since both Corrales and Toney were weight-drained as well (and their performances were almost as insipid as Oscar's), but considering that Oscar never fought again and had looked clearly past his best since around 2003-2004, I opted to leave it in the 'good' category as a win, rather than a 'very good' win which would merit inclusion here.

We can't overlook how he was a massive underdog coming in - I agree.

We can't overlook what the fight ended up doing for his career - I disagree. We both can and should overlook that. This thread is about the quality of opponent and quality of performance. How the fight raised the winner's profile is not relevant in this particular debate.

Quality list. I disagree (rather vehemently) that Jones-Ruiz and Mayweather-Corrales are in any way comparable to Nelson's win over Fenech, but other than that a top contribution as always. :good

:huh It has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the win though. Click the links and read the ranking criteria.
