Most of the past champs wouldn't fight at hw though. With 24h+ weigh-ins most would be cws and some lhws.

For me, it would be Johnson and Dempsey.

For Johnson, I've always believed his reflexes, ring IQ, and defense would make him a force in any era. I believe he would adapt to the modern game, and refine his techniques appropriately to suit the time. When you have the ring IQ Johnson did, I believe he could and would adapt very quickly, but I'd like to find out if I'm right.

Dempsey, I think the reasons are obvious...

Any too 5 heavy from mid 1960's all the too about 2005/2009. Defeat any of the Champions in today's game. With a prime Ali, Foreman,Holmes,Lewis and Kleischko's doing it pretty easily. A prime Tyson and Liston destroys them, Holyfield, Old Foreman, Old Holmes, outs smart them. Frazier, would have a tough time (height /size ) But probably out work them. (Joshua's stamina and chin issues, Wilder losses all technique a swings like a girl when he's tired) And quite a few fighters like a ready Witherspoon, Bowe,M.Spinks, maybe Cooney, probably beat them. I've seen nothing other than their size any of the top 3-5 fighters from 1960's to the mid 2000s any of the top caliber fighters had to fear.

I think AJ would be a tough opponent for him, at as tough as Lyle was. Wilder would be dangerous because of his power and Foreman wasn't hard to hit, Wilder could even drop him. Difference is though, Foreman likely gets up if he gets dropped. If Wilder gets dropped, he doesn't get up.

 

Marciano because these kids are well too rough to use their size effectively against him and their chins are too soft to resist him, and his size juxtaposed to theirs is kind of hilarious.

Jack Johnson because he was extremely technically gifted and doesn't get much credit for it because of the quality of film on him and the differences in resume judging criteria today vs when he was fighting.
