I never made it to the eastern part of washington.Seemed like another state it was so far away, just like bay area and sac town seem like another state to LA natives, but i heard Hipp fought out of the yakima area but is originally from Browning,Montana I knew some Indians a while back that told me that was there man from the Res.

Eastern WA is very far away it seems, but I am right in the middle so it doesn't really phase me. And eastern wa is like going to another state completely because it is a veritable desert compared to the rest of WA.

Hey washingtonians forgot about 2 time olympian from edmonds,wa Robert Shannon , but not officialy cuz Us boycotted the 80 moscow games. damn washington was a hot bed of talent per capita . Shannon ended up being a solid fringe contender as a pro. I forgot about Dale Grant another tough light heavy journeyman. When i was a kid there was a fighter i met name joe wade from bellingham who came out of the gym I was at he was a solid amatuer but ended up a clubfighter as a pro.

Hey charles has there ever been any good latino prospects from washington that you know of? I heard yakima has lot of chicanos. There was also a celebrated amatuer from washington name joey belinc who lost to pernell in the 84 olympic trials.

 I have been keeping up with both threads. I can't bring myself to post on them though, as it will get too heated again if I do. Suffice it to say, I pick Holmes by UD and Bowe by SD.

Hipp was a good journeyman with some skill, some power and loads of guts. But he was really limited, had bad problems with swelling, and lacked the fludity and skills of a top level contender.

I think Arreola would roll over Hipp. He's stronger, more skilled, faster, and has equal guts.
