Wearing power locks really isn't a big deal but that's exactly why Mayweather shouldn't have been such a diva about it.

If you ask me it was a hype generating ploy. He wanted fans to suspect some Margo-esque type stuff had gone down so they'd buy the fight lastminute. Of course nothing of the sort happened but I think he wanted fans to think it did to stoke up some interest.

I think I'll take Algieri's word for it. He fought Provo with 8 oz gloves and Maidana with probably 16 oz gloves and headgear, and still said Maidana hits harder. It's official, he hits way harder than Provo. :deal

1. Algieri seems like a pretty cool dude.

2. If Maidana thought the gloves were the difference in winning and losing, he should have refused to sign the deal until the gloves he wanted were in the contract (certainly if you are one of those guys who has made more than 3 posts referring to gloves size in this fight).

Some people on here i can guarantee have never even worn gloves and couldnt tell the difference between sizes. Believe me if you get punched with 16oz gloves it bloody hurts especially with no headgear. If you get hit by 8oz gloves you know the difference.

How much padding do you actually think there is between Reyes gloves 8oz and everlast 8oz gloves, not much at all. people make out theres a duvet stuffed inside there. The clue is in the description .....8oz, they all weigh 8oz its just the padding is in different parts of the glove.

I was boxing last night with 16oz and i switched to 10oz, the difference is immense. A pro fighter hitting you with 8oz gloves no matter what the make can KO you. dont be fooled into thinking otherwise.

 

that's my original point i said its all to do with circumstances the poster said maidana hits harder then ruslan because he dropped a guy and ruslan did not see my point?
