I picked Algieri to beat Ruslan, but that doesn't mean Ruslan was a hypejob, I'm a big fan of his as well, he's a beast for anyone, and anybody who fights him won't come out unscathed.
Bradley has never been in trouble the way he was against Provo, Tim was dropped twice, and you can make an argument 2 other times in the fight he would have went down with the ropes the only thing that held him up. He was out on his feet and fighting in auxillary mode for 12 rounds. How he outboxed him, is beyond most people's comprehension but he did. Pacquiao in 2 tries couldn't do to Bradley what Provo did in 2 rounds.

Mauricio Herrera beat him, but it was a very close fight, and it just shows how bad*** Herrera's chin is that he fought at close range and took a ****load of punishment to his eye, but did manage to outjab him, and not go down in the process Mauricio is a handful for anyone but, Ruslan came far closer to beating him than the champ Danny did.

Mike Alvarado is a warrior, and the first Rios fight was stopped prematurely, I believe he could have continued, he dominated and stopped Prescott and easily beat Rios the second time, Alvarado has never been beaten the way he was by Ruslan, he took his heart, and broke his spirit, that was a scary beating and it takes a hell of a lot to make Mike quit, but Ruslan did just that. Meanwhile Alvarado as the Marquez fight went on he became more and more game, obviously he lost pretty badly in the end, but it didn't end in the KO alot of people were predicting.

Algieri in my opinion shut Provo out albeit in close rounds from the 2nd to the 12th, he was never truly hurt by anything Provo threw, it was the force behind the shot in the eye that put Algieri down, he wasn't buzzed even when he took a knee, he claimed he was trying to ***ess the damage to his eye which was swelling rapidly.

The amount of concentration it took for Chris to fight the way he fought for 11 rounds with one eye and one of the most feared JWW's coming at him like the Siberian Bull that he is, with all his might, shows an amazing level of mental toughness, focus and skill to be a matador as effeciently as he did. He was rolling with punches out of instinct he couldn't even see coming, bobbing, weaving and slipping out of the way of many others. Outside of the first round Algieri boxed circles around Ruslan, never losing his poise or composure once. And comprehensively outboxed him for the rest of the fight, while many rounds seemed closer than they really were based on the perception that Algieri was badly hurt and it was only a matter of time before Ruslan stopped him, which can lead to a very bad misjudging of what your actually watching.
The fact remains that Algieri outlanded Ruslan 288-205, Mayweather only outlanded Maidana by 9 punches in their fight, Chris outlanded Ruslan by 83.

Algieri faced an opponent who beat the **** out of Herrera Alvarado and Bradley better than anyone has before, which is quite an accomplishment, Ruslan while not incredibly skilled is the real deal and Chris beat him fare and square.

Algieri has to skills to be a nightmare for anyone at JWW and WW, and while I'm not saying he'll beat Pacquiao, I wouldn't write him off either, its a distinct possibility.

No one is giving Chris a chance at beating Manny Pacquiao, which he very well may not, but isn't that what they said about Chris and Provodnikov. Manny is not nearly the puncher he once was and we can as.sume he doesn't hit nearly as hard as Ruslan, so the idea of Algieri being hurt, while always a possibility, seems very unlikely.
Algieri is a counter puncher like Marquez but not quite as good, he's close to being Bradley's equal when it comes to being hard to hit, and he has Margarito's size advantage, but unlike Tony he knows how to use his height to his advantage and box tall not hunch over and walk into to countless punches. He on paper is a terrible opponent for Manny, while Manny is next level, there are some styles that give him problems, and Algieri possesses a few of them.
This will be a far more competitive fight than many believe it to be, there is even a possibility that he may win, so don't be shocked if it happens.

Personally I think Algieri will outwork Manny and be robbed on the scorecards.

Algieri is good. Pacquiao's in with a good fighter.

I give Algieri more of a chance of causing the upset than Provodnikov anyway, who I think quite an easy style match for PacMan.

Look man, Manny is a Atg and I'm sure had top rank had better options, pac would of fought some one of higher caliber with a name. Tim Bradley should not be used as a example for provos greatness, Bradley fought a whole different style after being dramatized by all the *******s. He wanted to prove he can hang and exchange. He still out boxed provo despite being knocked out and almost out, a good boxer would of taken Bradley out when he was limping around the ring.

Chris and maidana are both joke fights (more so chris) just agree with this and you will feel better. Hey but if you really believe that then by all means put money in arums pockets.

Pacquiao would do a Rios on Provodnikov, but Algieri has the speed and awkwardness of Bradley, counter punches like Marquez and the size of Margarito, he's going to be a pain in the ass to figure out for Pac.

In fairness, Maidana has never beaten a fighter as good as Provodnikov. But I agree, neither Maidana or Algeiri have done enough to earn the fights they are in.

I didn't say he was better than any of them did I, but he has qualities that tend to trouble Manny.

He has a good jab but no power at all. I would say he is gonna have a hard time lasting vs paquiao for 12 rounds. Provo made his eye almost blind lol his eye was damn swollen

Provo is always a force there is no denying that, but if you can take a punch you will beat provo if you can box. I don't rate provo high at all and just a few notches below maidana. Provo will always look good against boxers for a few rounds until he gasses out and gets out boxed like he has against Herrera, Bradley and chris.

Maidana has a better resume so I would have to side with maidana on this one.

I'm a big fan of Manny, but he hasn't stopped anyone in quite awhile, and should be obvious Provo has more power than Manny and he couldn't stop him.

I actually think Provo would beat Maidana. Maidana probably hits a bit harder, but I think Provo takes a better shot- and in a fight like they'd have that would probably be the deciding factor

    Never said you did.

But when you make those kinds of claims, expect people to raise an eyebrow and question it.

"He has the speed of Bradley, the size of Margarito, the counter punching abilities of JMM"

    No. Just no.

He's maybe 2/10 in each category compared to the examples you listed.

Algieri, Alvarado & Herrera are all average. D.Garcia is an overachiever.

Bradley is the closest in many years we have got to a fighter near Pac & Floyd's level...but still he get whooped by Pac & floyd...
