140lbs or 147lbs, who would prevail, algieris slickness or hattons aggressiveness?05 to 09 hatton that is.
Chris has a lot of heart and is a good fighter, but i think he would have lost to the Hatton of 2005, that beat Tszyu, most likely on points and would have kissed the canvas a couple of times in the process...
i think algieri is made to order for hatton.Even before the pacquiao fight i thought this to be so. i think hatton beats him 10-2 or 9-3 in rounds. algieri doesnt have enough power to keep hatton off,and hattons plenty fast enough on his feet to track algieri down.any other thoughts?
The one thing you need against prime Hatton is enough power to keep him at distance Algeri is tailor made for Ricky to look good.
Hatton brutal body puncher, a better body puncher than pacman, those ribs shots will slow algieri down a bunch. then he gets inside and does his business. it might take him 7 rounds or so though. algieri is a good mover and pretty tough.
Inside its no Contest... On the Outside... It's a campaign of diminishing Returns as Hatton did have Great footwork against Runners.. Cutting the Ring and that Signature move - The Scissor Step - Formed pa rt of that "Educated Pressure" His "Track-to-Whack" would leave Chris little time to Compose and Execute... Ricky...in his Short Prime..Too Much Fighter for this Skilled Boxer... ( Chris Vs Paulie M might of been a Better Bet for him ?)
Yeah, Decy has it right. Though very brave Algieri just doesn't have the power to keep Hatton off him.
