Only just stumbled across his world title win back in 2014 against Provodnikov. What a fight and such great heart shown by Algieri. As I've only seen the highlights, was it a deserved win for him? To get knocked down twice and come back to win is pretty good. Algieri seems a well-schooled fighter, how good was he?

Algeri is a great guy. Genuine, honest and a credit to the sport we love. If the Provo fight wasn't enough he had the balls to get in there with Spence, Khan and Pacquiao. It's great to have him as a commentator after boxing too.

However, as a fighter, he was stuck at the Provodnikov/Khan level. He wasn't gifted in the chin or power department which really capped his potential.

If you want classic content, go back to the Algieri/Pacquiao fight. 5 seconds before getting folded by Pacquiao his trainer quotes "I'm going to let Chris out of his cage soon..." annnnnd Pacquiao drops him

He was a solid boxer, he just lacked power to keep guys honest.

great frame for 140 (5'10 if not taller) and had some solid fundamentals, also always showed up in fantastic physical shape. He lacked power and he always did that unnecessary turn/pivot thing that got him seriously hurt against pac

    His genetics let him down.

    Super smart guy though.

If you do a search on Google images for 'Chris Algieri L'effronte' you can find a really nice photo shoot of him where he's wearing a rather tight pair of aquamarine blue or possibly chlorine blue spandex shorts
