Chris Arreola back on Sep. 15. His 5th fight this year!

Arreola is fast becoming the most experienced heavyweight around. And I think that may pay off for him in the future.....

 

I think it's a good strategy, if for no other reason than he's keeping his name out there and remaining marketable. It also means he's training more often and avoiding bad habits.

Not to start another Pavlik thread, but he could take a less from Arreola.

I'd also like to see Arreola/Haye.

 

Promotion wise this fight wouldn't do bad in the US and for Arreola would be a good intermediary before he steps it up to the likes of a Helenius or Thompson. I don't think Tua has any desire to compete at the A level and knows hes too old, but if I'm wrong this would be the road to do it.

Areola is just pulling a Hasim Rahman, seen it before and it is not impressive at all. Areola is just holding at 236 when he should be 5bs lighter every fight, the guy is a fat slob and if in shape he would be 210lbs or lighter. When he is 220lbs or less and beating top 15 guys I will take note of his work. So far he is just putting in 75% effort.

 

GBP are Haye's American promotional partners, and seem to be pushing for him to rebuild himself in the States. I'm not a fan of his, but I'd like to see him fight Arreola.

 

He'd have to lose muscle mass to be under 220. What would be the point? He could comfortably do 12 rounds - and throw 1000 punches - at 255, so 235 looks pretty good to me.

 

Arreola is one of my favorite heavyweights, no matter what you might think of him he can be entertaining. I think the strategy of him fighting often while getting his weight under control was the perfect strategy but now I want to see him move from C/D level guys to another top 10 guy.


My feeling is that Arreola, due to his style, will have a short prime and I also think this newfound dedication won't last. He is at a perfect combination of prime years and dedication right now, no need to waste anymore of it on the Aguillera's and Ahunanya's of the world. Win or lose lets see Arreola matched up with guys like Haye, Povetkin, Adamek 2, and even Wlad. In another year or two Arreola could be on the downside of his career or back up to 280 pounds, put him in exciting matches now.

Are you kidding? No. Arreola beats Chambers.

 

You know what? He can fight twelve rounds at 235 lbs. He'll be fine.

 

I am not kidding in the least. Eddie Chambers is faster, his technique is several levels above and there isn't much of a power deficit. The only thing that Arreola has over Chambers is a consistent work rate.

Put it this way. If Adamek, a blow up light heavy, can outbox Arreola then i sincerely believe that Chambers could as well
