He's being very well managed these days, and working hard himself. He deserves credit for that. In a time of such inactivity (most of the top guys lose to a Klitschko and never bounce back) this is the sort of thing that can earn a title shot, legitimately in my eyes
Yeah, I hate slobs who think everything is going to be handed to them on a silver platter because they hit a bit harder than the average lug. ...and no, I wouldn't prefer Haye. I hate Haye as much as I hate Arreola, if not more. AGAIN, stop bringing him up. I am no Haye fan. He has nothing to do with Arreola sucking. It looks a bit desperate when your best defense of the guy is "At least he isn't _____" :good ...and Arreola isn't all that entertaining, really. If you like mindless brawling, go watch Toughman or Kimbo Slice videos. I am entertained by skill, on which he is short.
don't forget he gets paid. despite his underwhelming resume he actually sells a fight, so why wouldn't he fight 5 x a year against c level fighters?
he just gets hit too much. that style wont work with a klitschko. entertaining, yes, but, u need some skill to make it in this division against the big boys. in his 2 losses, they were slugfests. the other guy who was better conditioned and more skilled won. he so far has been an underachiever, and believe me, i like him as a fighter a lot
Arreoler needs the ring time and to up his confidence, but sadly in the end he will never be Klitschko/Adamek level.
I like to see a fighter working his way into a title shot instead of talking/waiting his way in. Chris is a dedicated fighter, and even if he's not fighting top competition, he's working the kinks out of his game. Remember that he was a national golden glove champion, so he has some technical ability. His conditioning is improved. His mind is focused. He is afraid of no one. He comes to fight his ass off every time. I'd like to see him fight the winner of Thompson/Chambers for the USBA title then fight Helenius for the IBF Intercontinental strap. I think after that he will be as ready as he's ever going to be to fight Wlad.
Love Arreola, he's showing great dedication.... this new focused, slimmer Arreola would beat Adamek in a rematch
This is good for Arreola, he needs to keep active, keeping his name in the news, he has time and will get another title shot.............
Unless he improves he's never in any way going to be that great, but is good contender to have around. Maybe by staying so active he will get weight down a bit more. I have no respect at all for him as person though, since he pulled that **** where he kissed that guy he was ko'ing.
He wouldn't even be able to beat James Toney. He's just more active than James Toney. I'd like to see him fight James Toney and we will see if he has what it takes to be elite. Or even fight someone like Antonio Tarver.
