Chris Arreola, Can he Become A Champ....

No, a swarming, strong, pressure type fighter, which is the just kind of guy Sultan does not want to face as he's pretty much become a stick and move counterpuncher.

He will come right to Sultan and make him exchange, which is what Sultan USED to do until Mayweather made him a off his back foot fighter.

I'm a fan of Sultan but look at his best wins:

Goofi: Big, lumbering, refused to exchange in any volume.

Briggs: Lazy fighter, no pressure, single power punches, perfectly suited to Sultan

Holyfield: No real weapons, too shot to be able to push Sultan

His two worst fights were Austin and Wlad who posed height problems. Sultan has never faced a swarmer type, and that style is just right to beat him. The closest he came was Friday Ahunaya, but Friday didn't let his hands go enough, and he was still able to drop Sultan with a right hand.

I just think an aggressive style will give Ibragimov problems, since he looks to pick off shots and counter, not move laterally away from pressure.

This would be a good fight, maybe Ibragimov would stand and trade like he used to do, then you'd have a war.

What good is swarming when you have no speed, and no jab? Arreola ain't touching Sultan. What was Sultan's Amatuer record? He knows how to box, has a good defense and quick reflexes. Please, like he is just going to ****ing stand there and get hit by punches that you could see coming from space. Sultan will win and easily, I will bet you anything.

 

Wait until Tua stands toe to toe with him. Chris likes getting hit? Hard? He'll get his chance in October.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. Arreola isn't as slow as you say. I know Sultan knows how to box, but he doesn't take well to pressure, and he's definitely hittable, he was dropped by Whitaker, Austin, and Ahunanya, granted he did get up. I just think with the way he fights now, he puts himself at a disadvantage against someone with good activity.

You can get away with countering off the back foot against Briggs and Holyfield, guys who don't make you work, but Arreola is better than either of those guys at this stage.

 

Only if he buys it at Checkers.

 

Chris Arreola has what it takes to be a solid contender, if not champion.

His nose absorbs any power shot...

 

I know he has a granite nose.
