That's why I said "on the come up" before he gets to contender status he will be ruined.

No. There were guys who were beaten by Patterson and/or Liston and/or Valdes and were also contenders. Some were beaten by more than one of them and still became contenders. Tommy Jackson, for example.

Well Arreola isn't one of those guys. Arreola would get beat by Charles, Moore, Matthews, and Johnson just to name a few. Multiple times by everyone mentioned.

Jameel McCline was 39 years old, had only triumphed in one of his last four fights, was out of shape and hadn't scored a stoppage over anyone in ages.. To suggest that he was anything other than canon fodder at the time of his meeting with Arreola is like trying to sell a used Ford Taurus to someone claiming its a new Mercedes Benz.

Fine. Arreola vs. Seth Mitchell. Arreola vs. Chazz Witherspoon. Arreola vs. Eric Molina. Arreola vs. Cliff Couser. Arreola vs. Travis Walker. Arreola vs. Friday Ahunanya. Arreola vs. Malcolm Tann. Arreola vs. Adamek.

Pick any one you like when he was a fighting well. In the 1950s, he'd have been a top 10 fighter. Every top 10 list from that decade had some guys in it he'd beat.

Mhmmm, yes, because a s****py former light heavyweights never did anything worth mentioning in the past several decades of heavyweight boxing! I can't think of a single instance.:roll:

Exactly. Half the contenders throughout the 1950s were aging light heavys, and many weren't nearly as good as Adamek.

I don't think Adamek was great at heavyweight (Or anywhere. Very good at LHW and CW but that's it) but he certainly earned his way to legitimate title shots at the big boys up there. He didn't tear through guys in the top ten but he picked and chose his spots and earned several decent scalps to build himself up at HW.

He was very consistent and active at heavy and made a very nice late career run in a weight class he really didn't belong in what so ever.

I could provide several examples for the guy above me, but what's the point? Billy Conn jumped up in weight and was winning a fight against the consensus number one or two heavyweight of all time.

If people can't see that this Adamek situation is simply a far less accomplished and impression version of a LHW jumping up in weight, don't know what to tell them. :?

Why do you post on boxing boards if you don't follow the sport?

Do a Google search of names like James Toney. Michael Moorer.

Now which Bob Dunlap fight made you think he could beat Chris Arreola? Or are you just going to keep demanding examples from people while ignoring their requests? If so, people may start ignoring you.

your great example is of a man who never stepped into a boxing ring until he was 24!

your great example being a non achieving relative of another boxer who was DQ on a technicality due to his crew entering the ring early! great example ...of a double flop

an "international belt" holder, ie someone who isn't EVEN IN contention! A prospects belt! Great example...of NON CONTENTION.

whose record is a string of losses involving anyone barely contending. Great example of FAILING IN ANY FORM TO CONTEND.

I'm not going on. You are through, mate, why let u dig yourself deeper. I'm not a cruel man.

Good. Because you aren't saying anything. You just ask questions.
