For a fat guy like Arreola I agree. For lower weights road work can be very beneficial. Road work and running are two different animals btw. You don't have to choose either, you can run and swim.

    True.
Wlad doesnt do roadwork(jogging) at all anymore. He does do movement in the ring with hand and ankle weights,(45 min) but the road work had been changed to 2-3 times a week of 1 hour straight swimming. I tried it.. WOW thats hard to do. Full body workout plus MAJOR cardio and totally non-impact on the body:good

I took a 2k swim last week, the last 500 meters were gruesome.

Ps. check out the training section (shameless plug), many in General don't even know it exists :D

Its true you dont have to run to be fit, you just have to increase your heart rate. You can use a stationary bike, you can swim, its just to increase your endurance. If the goal is to slim down swimming and the stationary bike along with a clean diet are better than running. If the goal is endurance then you should run, in specific you should sprint, then walk for a while, then sprint, rather than jog at the same pace.

Has Wlad entertained the idea of rowing on the Concept II rowing machine?
