John Ruiz didn't fight pretty but he was veeeeeeeeeery effective in doing so... I didn't always enjoy his fights, but I admire his determination, his heart, his will to never give up,...

He never ducks anybody, fought everybody he could (even though he lost some)
He always comes in good shape in comparison to fat Chris

He wasn't regarded as a world class fighter because he wasn't as exciting as Arreola but hey, at least every time Ruiz fights a good opponent, he actually beat a few of them...

Fat Chris was regarded as a world class opponent because he could bang... yeah sure but his face is sticking out for his opponent to bang in as well, he faced two good championship fighters and lost both time...

Yeah it does make Ruiz world class, doesn't it :D

The last and only time Ruiz was KO'd was against Tua, there he was KO'd clean. If the towel didn't flew I thought John could've hung the whole 12 against Haye, he was hurt but not badly that he could go anytime :good

Ruiz isn't regarded as a world class fighter because he had to CHEAT to get victories over them. Excessive holding is against the rules, and faking low blows - which Ruiz did to get crucial calls in several fights - is just disgraceful. Ruiz had to do this to be competitive at the world class level PRECISELY because he didn't have world class boxing ability.

Ruiz would have no problem with Chris "the CATCHER" Arreola.

    THANK YOu!
HATER!! I can't still understand how Ruiz is regarded as a cheater while Hopkins can get away with it and even Berto gave more hugs in his fight against Urango/Collazo? than Ruiz's entire career!! Anyways, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember a guy in the middle of the ring everytime Ruiz fought... I think it's called a referee, and I've been even told that the guy is in charge of deciding if a boxer is going against the rules & can even stop the fight if he deems so... never happened in any of Ruiz's fights, sooo... I guess Ruiz won fair & square... Even in the event of too much holding you got to remember this is boxing, not water polo or cricket, and the game is about hit while doing anything to not get hit while not being DQ'd. At the very least, Ruiz was good at doing so..... he deserves a bit better than that, though.
OOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, and btw, Ruiz beats Arreola even today.:yep:nod

:hi: Louis completely dominated his era, while beating some good fighters like Walcott, Lewis, Sharkey, and Conn, along the way, no one is dominating this era, as we have 3 champs who won't fight each other. BTW Wlad got destroyed by an unheralded 38 yr old golfer who had never been anything to crow about till Wlad. :yep:lol:
