your a ****** really you are! i go to a well known british boxing gym my bro is the coach i work the corner we have a commonwealth champ and former world am champ even they know they cant fuk with a pro mma fighter in an mma match just as they know an mma fighter cant touch them in boxing, iv bin training bjj for under a year an we've rolled for a laugh and iv tapped them and im much smaller so wot is a bjj black belt gonna do!
Boxers are better at boxing MMA figters are better at fighting One cannot hang in the others sport. Why is this a big deal?
And streetfighters are better at streetfighting. Ohh excuse me ref, he poked my eye, he bit me, he head butted me, he kicked me in the balls, boo hoo.
UFC glass chins is the problem. That backwards jab that silva used to knockout griffin was ridiculous. It was funny actually, I laughed out loud.
Of course Carlos Quintana would smoke BJ Penn. Quintana had 70 fights and was apart of the Puerto Rico Olympic team in 96 not to mention hes been a professional Champion. BJ Penn has no amateur or pro boxing background. Guys like BJ really arent the best strikers anyway. The best strikers are guys like Jose Aldo, Anderson Silva or Alistair Overeem guys with strong kickboxing/Muay Thai backgrounds or with like Overeem hes destroyed some of the best guys in K-1 like Aerts, Teixera and Hari. Stick Arreola in a K-1 style match with Overeem and Overeem keeps him at kicking distance and destroys his legs and finishes before the final bell. A high level kickboxer will normally beat a high level boxer because your legs are longer then your arms and these guys are masters at keeping these guys at a certain range with teeps.
you said street fight now you say if i ever fought a muay thai or jujitsu fighter.. lol .. most MMA fighters striking ability are below amateur level... BJ penn is one of the best strikers in MMA and even i can easily beat him in a boxing match :hat
its more the dumbass web journalists looking for hits that ask these questions to both sets of fighters fault this **** doesn't die away.arreola is a master competitive food eater
So what is this thread supposed to prove exactly? That boxers are better at boxing than MMA fighters? Was this ever in doubt? Are we supposed to praise Arreola for stating the bloody obvious? If you can find anyone on this forum that thinks MMA fighters can beat top ranked boxers in a boxing match then maybe this debate will mean something. But the general consensus among everyone here is the opposite. This is a topic that is continually brought up (usually in the boxing forum and moved over here), and it's a total non starter.
I think there are some who would be very competitive. Remember, guys from thailand started with muay thai, then subsequently transitioned to boxing and became world champions. The striking of most MMA guys are muay thai. So it's not impossible to find a handful who would excel on boxing.
LOL at puertorricane - ****nuts carries on like boxing is the be all and end all of stand up. Get in the ring with a Muay Thai fighter and get ****in' owned - like you have been on this thread!
I'll get in the ring with you''' are you a muay thai fighter... and all this owned **** shows that you're like 15yrs old.. aint nobody owing anybody biatch :hat
