Physical shape means nothing. All things being equal though Arreola's weight is a GREAT step in the right direction.
Personally i don't think he was gassed at all in the second round. As he's always been a 12 round fighter. And by the third had no problems throwing tons of punches.
The problem with Chris is he's a VERY crude slugger with a low boxing IQ. He has some good natural tools and is entertaining as he comes to fight. But the kid needs a good boxing coach to teach him some quality fundamentals.
Chris just loves a tear up. In that respect it makes him not that much better than a club fighter. But he's clearly better than that. Id like to see him box behind the jab more and put his punches together better. His chin is screaming out for a counter left hook as he lunges with that right hand so much.
Personally i don't see Chris addressing any of this to be honest. I hope im wrong though. Either way he's entertaining to watch.

Thats why id likke to see him against some capable but not too dangerus foes for Arreola... He never got to learn or get a taste for these type of guys like mosth hws did.. He went from fightng Cans, too other prospect, too and old fighter or 2, then fought the maybe best Hw and a top 4 hw... THats not how your suppose to be brought along..Especially foir HW like Arreola who has to work on afew things,or learn from fighting the type of guys who wont beat him but might test him... I think he should have about2 or 3 more fighs agiainst guya a jonathan Banks,Michael Grant,Mormeck,SosnowskiGuinn,Hoffman before a fight for the title or a top 5 guy.... I tinnk he could beat a lower or borederline 10 guy like DImitrenko right now.

i dont understand what people saw that leads them to believe arreola gassed out. i was expecting him to but the guy was still steady throwing hard shots at a fast pace all the way up to the stoppage. i even kept a close eye on him and he was not even breathing hard. what is it that i didnt see?

I read a few posts where "experts" talk about how he would have defeated Adamek if he was lighter etc. Sorry, but I don't think any version of Arreola would beat Tomasz... same with K2.

Couldn't agree more. Arreola is clearly nothing special but because he's American and exciting to watch he got hyped up beyond belief. I always thought he was a C level fighter who got lucky. He can get as fit and ripped as he wants it won't negate the big gap in skills when matched up against fighters like Adamek and the Klitschko's.

People need to stop worrying so much about Chris Arreola's body. Not everyone can look like the Klitschko brothers or David Haye. Not everyone has that body type. His weight was good, and he was clearly in shape. I would be more concerned about the fact that he still fights the same way, but also looked a bit slower to me. I don't know if he took a little off his punches to keep himself under control or what... but all of his punches were really telegraphed and other than his weight... I didn't see any improvements in his technical ability.

It's not like I expect him to come out there boxing like James Toney. It's just that you would think he would at least work to sharpen up his craft. I hope that he isn't spending his entire training camp trying to lose weight, rather than training for his fights.

True. He didn't look gassed or tired in the slightest when the fight was stopped. He's always had good stamina.

Dropped alot of weight which is good, no suprise that he lost a touch
of power - which he should pick back up if he puts on muscle.

Definately has scope to improve but gets my vote because he's entertaining - which is rare for a heavyweight.
