I think its too early. Give him three or four more fights including a rematch with Adamek and a fight with one of the top 10 contenders. Arreola is good but he needs to improve and he has been improving. Let the pie bake a bit.
I really like Arreola, he don't give up and keeps himself in the hunt. Also, he's fast becoming the most experience fighter around....
Arreola gets on my nerves. He's a decent fighter who turns up in dreadful shape. He cried like a whale after Vitali punished him and said he was going to train hard, but still came back to his next fight completely out of shape.
I live in SoCal and have some friends in common with Cris. Before he was hyped as the next big thing, he had a good amatuer career and took his craft seriously. As he started to get some publicity and money, he fell into bad habits in and out of the gym. He's not the first fighter to do so. Once the talk about Cris turned negative, he manned up, took his career seriously, and has approached boxing like he has to prove himself again. As far as crying in the ring: he showed more passion for the sport in those two minutes than Wlad has his entire career. Part of his appeal is that he wears his heart on his sleeve and would rather go out on his shield than fight like a *****.
Cris Arreola is a very skilled fighter and tough dude. That he is serious and in shape now makes him even more legitimate. I just don't want him to fight Wladimir just yet. I don't want to come across as disrespectful about a fighter that I really like and totally respect, but Wladimir is on another planet skill-wise right now and one more beatdown could finish it for Cris. I'd rather see him stick around for a while. Maybe kick Haye's ass or fight some of the other challengers out there. Come back for Wladimir in a year or so.
anyone remember billy grahams body bag when hatton was training? thats what this fight will remind me of.
