Yep. I mean how many times did we see a fighter go down or even hurt, get up on his feet and knock the other guy down and out. It has happened many times. As a ref, you should never decide the outcome of a fight - let the fighters do that.

Of course. I want to see a clean knockout every time. This should be the rule, rather than the exception, as it has unfortunately become today.

Fight over.. good stoppage.. Cardenas was all heart, but Villanueva is just younger, faster, stronger, and better.

I don't really understand the point of that kind of matchmaking. If you want a hopelessly outmatched stiff to feed your guy, why not get a guy in California that you don't have to fly in?

Abell had been winning the round up until he was hit. He deserved a chance to continue if he could. If a ref dived in every time he deemd a fighter in need of "a favor" fighters would never be able to come back from behind.

Schmidt looks good as a number on his record... came in 10-1. Sounds good, but offers no threat.

That's all Estrada is doing anyhow, building a record and building confidence.

    Whoopdeef*ckingdoo.

Yes, because that's a great way to build fighters.

Why not give your guy a 70/30 fight instead of a 99/1 fight? That'll do far more toward developing him and making him potentially one day a champion than bullsh*t fights that do nothing because you give him easy touches and then once he comes up against adversity he doesn't know how to handle it. It's like sending the Pittsburgh Steelers out to play a high school football team to prepare for playing the Super Bowl.

Don't you follow this sport? It's done all the time. It's his 11th pro fight, it seems people want to get a guy into his 12th or 13th fight before gradually doing the step up process.. then try and get into a title fight around 18 - 20.

I don't really have a problem giving a guy soft touches at this stage.. just don't televise it.. and it wasn't supposed to be televised unless fights ended early.. and they did.. so we saw the mis-match.
