Chris Arreola Vs. Nagy Aguilera May 14th

Much better fight.

 

Why is Arreolla fighting a guy comming off a loss (or possibly losses, haven't checked) to a fringe guy like Mo Harriss? What are wins over Abell and Naggy supposed to do for Arroella's flaws and even profile. Wish this guy would fight a fellow 'contender' (and that's being very generous with the term). Hell even mo harris would be better....

Guess arreolla is following the shannon briggs model -- fight bums, keep name relevant, jump on undeserved title shots. shame the division works that way (esp for a guy like CA who has really never beaten a top 15 guy)

 

Nagy Agueillera isn't much but its about the level of opponent you'd expect for an off tv bout. Arreola should be able to run over Agueillera but it could be a semi-fun fight before Arreola ko's him. Its Arreola's second fight in four months so I'm not going to slam him for this fight but after this fight its time to face another contender.

 

It won't really be fun at all, I'm afraid. (moot point, if we're not even seeing it. Is that confirmed, btw? Ward-Abraham will be shown by itself?)

Nagy's power is nothing, and his first round KOs (including the one over Olly) mean less than nothing. One thing I'll give Arreola is his very solid chin. No drama here. Chris pummels him, and quickly.

 

Yeah, I don't think we'll see it until after we already know the result. To me Arreola is a big favorite and Aguilera is very limited but he has some pop and his game plans seem to be to come foward so I figure there might be a few nice exchanges before Arreola gets rid of him.

 

Unless Arreola has no chin overnight this is a horrible fight. How does Nagy keep getting big fight shots? Because he blasted out Oleg Maskaev in the 1st round? Does that really justify being an elite boxer? it's Oleg for christ sake. His chin has proven to be one of the worst in heavyweight history.

and speaking of Tarver, any news on his continued HW run?

Him vs. Toney would be the ultimate trash talk event. Throw Mayorga in for the undercard, what a treat.

idk wut to say about this . i dont get this fight there just keeping him busy making money. this fight wont get him better . he prolly spares better guys . his managment has a plan for him hes guna fight a worhy opponent when his trainer thinks hes ready.

it could b worse like not having an undercard. but this fight really isnt worthy of showtime . this shouldnt even be on tv. this is sum FNF **** right here.

 

looks like they are trying to get Arreola a bunch of easy wins and another title shot. He needs to be fighting better fighters than this to develop.

I saw Arreola say he's just stayin' busy. I don't see anything wrong with that at this point in his career :think

 

Ehh, not exactly great competition, I'm just hoping he shows up in much better shape.
