it was 2 or 3 years ago, but briggs did manage a little power shot in the last seconds of the last round vs sergei. yes briggs is painfully inactive but he can still let it fly at times and even late. arreola should be able to "out work" him but u never know

But unfortunately he'd probably win this one.

    Briggs by knock out.

Briggs has powershots from hell, and if he lands (and I think he will, given Arreola's leaky defense) Arrreola will crumble.

Briggs is history . . . he needs to fight with an oxygen tank besides him to help him out with his lungs problem.

    Arreola by stoppage.

Maybe so, but that would be if Briggs came into an Arreola fight all beefed up as he was before. I doubt he'd be so stupid, cause he knows how bad his stamina was due to his being built like Lou Ferrigno.

Being a pretty smart guy, I think Briggs will have enough forsight to make another run at a title (probably his last) at a more appropriate weight/amount of muscle.

At least, I hope so. :blood

But if he did come into the fight all bulked up, once again, you are probably right.......he's run outta steem pretty quickly.

But Arreola has to be one of the most overrated, got to the higher rankings on doing NOTHING heavyweights of recent memory. I just don't see him getting past much of anyone who poses at least an average test on this level.

    Oleg
    Briggs
    Brewster
    Ruiz
    Toney

    All would beat Arreola.

Hell, even Liakhovitch, and McCall may beat him with a bit of luck and a good gust of wind behind their backs...........LOL.

Oquendo, as well.......... TOS, and maybe even Whitaker. LOL

I can agree 100% with this statement. Truth is Shannon has some good skills but zero stamina & that's just as important at the top level.

I'm surprised that anyone is picking Briggs, especially the person who picked Briggs on points. Briggs looked HORRIBLE against Sultan and hasn't even got in the ring in the two years since. Arreola's been active, and while he's not in the best condition, he has much more stamina than Briggs.

Exactly . . . that's why I said he needs an oxygen tank besides him. :D

The guy has a lungs problem . . . he also got ashma . . . for christ sake.

Briggs is done as a boxer, and should take up body bulding.
