I just noticed on boxrec.com that Chris Arreola has a fight scheduled on April 11th in Los Angeles at The Nokia Theater. I know Sam Peter has been calling Chris out for a couple of months (there's obviously a rather large thread here in the forum about it) but does anyone have any idea who Chris might be fighting or has been in negotiations with? As of now the opponent is just marked "?".
I doubt it will be anyone that big. It's going to be on the Winky-Williams undercard, so most of the financial resources will be dedicated to the main event.
That's not good, Chris needs to step up in competition if he seriously expects to have a fight with Wladimir later this year. I think someone like Sam Peter or Tony Thompson (both who need fights) would be great for him. Both of those fighters were destroyed by the Klit's last year and we could see how Chris does against them.
Doesn't Thomspon have a fight scheduled with Toney? If he doesn't, I'd guess that Thompson would be willing to take the fight for much less than Peter would have. A win over Arreola puts anyone back in the title mix, simply because he's ranked absurdly high by all the ABCs.
haha i think a sam peter/chris arreola fight would be good. two over-weight, out of shape, hard punching, questionable chinned fighters going toe to toe in the center of the ring. its close to sounding like a good heavyweight fight. i'd go with ARREOLA TKO 10 or some sort of wide UD...Sam cant box to well and if Arreola can withstand those barrage of punches at first, i can see Arreola staging a comeback like he did against Walker, who did have pop, to even knock Sam out...Wald did wobble Sam and i think it can be done again, especially if Arreola also gets past his guard
Thompson had a fight scheduled with Toney back in December, but Thompson pulled out because of bronchitis and Fres Oquendo stepped in. I'm not sure if Thompson-Toney has been rescheduled.
Arreola wouldnt last more than 5 rounds with Samuel, Peter is better in almost every aspect of the fight game. Look for both men to slug it out early, Peter has the more proven chin and the heavier hands, if Travis Walker could put that slob Arreola down with ease, Peter will knock him the **** out.
I dont give Chris good chance to beat slick boxer who move and use there jab like Thompson , but ill bet on him for every slugfest he step in!! i will like to see a fight with Haye it will be something to remember, Haye got all the tools to defeat Areola but his Ego is too big and he will want to trade with Arreola and get floored with is jaw broken and glass every where on the canevas.thats what i want to see!
looking at is shape i think he face that kind of challenge every day! seriously after his last fight he talk about gettin in shape , what kind of shape is another story!
Peter has a questionable chin??atsch Ask wlad or vitali how good it is. Don't mention the McCline fight, Peter had a ruptrued eardrum
Goosen is not stupid. Arreola gets a shot at Klitschko only as long as he is unbeaten. So no risk fight. Do you wanna see Klit-Arreola, if Arreola loses to Peter?
