Chris Billam-Smith should be a boxing hero for his incredible services to the sport.

    One 10 - 10 round. CBS 3 rounds. Okolie 8 rounds.

As loath as I am to give Okolie any credit after his disgusting display of octopus grabbing and cheating -- and I think it might have been his magnum opus in that regard - and his services to octopus grabbing, spoiling, and dirty tactics and cheating prior to last night were already right up their with greats of those fields -- he was gracious in defeat

And I didn't like the fact CBS mentioned having been sick during the week of the fight. I don't doubt it was true for one minute and he didn't say it with any intent to try and belittle Okolie like some fighters do when they've won after coming into the fight compromised through illness or injury. He's not that kind of guy. But I just prefer it when the victor keeps that kind of thing to themselves.

He held fully for 2mins and 10 seconds in the 4th, it was shameless, hopefully CBS can win the rematch and condemn the Octopus to the nobody needs him pile.

Outrageous! I knew it was an awful lot but not that much. That's why you have to DQ fighters like him, because they never listen. He's like the kid who keeps taking the sweets no matter how many times you tell them not to. You warn him but he reverts back to type soon after.

CBS looked better as a boxer vs Riakporhe (who I thought CBS was robbed against) and that was a less developed version of CBS. Which tells me that hugkolie makes his opponents look bad, which should be obvious given how everyone talks about his size and "awkwardness". I could see a 208 lbs Usyk having an ugly fight in Britain with 6'5, 6'9 reach, 220+ lbs hugkolie, who is a wrestler as much or more than he is a boxer.

Fighters with more skill than CBS but a weaker chin, less heart, inferior stamina or a combination thereof would have lost that fight. Perhaps it was a case of a great gameplan and the attributes matching up well but it's a fantastic win regardless, against the guy who was consensus No.1 at cruiser (at least with home and A-side advantage). CBS won by a 7 point margin by consensus on the cards, that's 9-2-1 in a regular fight with no KD's or deductions.

What have poor octopuses done to be compared to Okolie all the time? Leave them alone.

Interviewer on IFL said a lot of the people he spoke to told him that it was more a case of Okolie losing the fight than CBS winning it. I've seen a bit of that myself and people defending Okolie and claiming the ref had it in for him

Firstly, if the ref had it in for Okolie he would've DQ'd him and that's what categorically should've happened and what Okolie thoroughly deserved to have happen. If that amount of holding doesn't warrant being DQ'd then no amount ever would. And then there was all the other dirty stuff and spoiling tactics he employed in addition to the holding too.

Secondly, CBS was unable to land a fraction of the amount of shots he usually does because he had a giant octopus HW with SHW dimensions hugging him to death and wrapping him up all night and doing everything in his power to avoid getting hit and prevent CBS from not only landing punches but throwing them too, most of it illegal.

When Okolie did land with big shots of his own CBS took them well even though Okolie is the bigger man and a known puncher. However, on the rare occasions CBS was able to land clean he hurt Okolie or had him in a spot of bother and instinctively holding on like an octopus again immediately after. If Okolie actually gave CBS time to get off with his shots and didn't octopus grab and spoil all night he would've got knocked out.
