Byrd was shot to **** at that time.
Byrd was already well past prime 19 months earlier when he got brutally beaten by Wlad during 6 rds and was KO'd in 7th.

At 37, his speed and reflexes were gone. By the wasy, jorneyman Shaun George just few months after Povetkin beat him far easier than Sasha.

Byrd's best years as a boxer ended in 2003, after long lay-off and fighing 1 time per year. In fight vs Williamson in 2005 he looked well past prime. Povetkin fought him in late 2007.

Goes to show that Povetkin is actually a pretty good fighter.

Especially so after the we just witnessed the demolition job Povetkin did on Carlos 'The Jackal' Takam.

    Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda...

That's dangerously slipping into David (300-0-0 in theoretical matchups) Haye fanboy territory.

What we know for sure is Byrd beats Vittles and never has to worry about the Ukranian Frankenstein seeking a rematch. :hey

Ah but - We should not forget that Vitali didn't want any more of Byrd, after realising the crafty southpaw's skills were capable of inducing a rotator cuff injury.

Even that old version of Tyson would spark Byrd, similar to what Ike did.

Byrd has no size advtange over Tyson, and hes featherfisted and he has no stylistic advantage.

Tyson walks through him, it will take him a few rounds but he will connect sooner or later and then Byrd is taking nap.

The version of Tyson in 02 was better than the one who lost to Williams 2 years later. Lewis knocked everything out of him. But up until '02 Tyson had enough to get Byrd out of there.

Secondly, why would a superior fighter like Lewis, duck a mediocre fighter like Byrd?

Lewis could just jab and lean on Byrd to a boring UD.
    Byrd has no power

Whats Byrd going to do? Outbox Lewis?

    :D

He fought Mike Tyson and Vital Klitscko back to back, you think he was scared of guys like Byrd and ****ing Ruiz?
