Lewis himself admitted he couldnt be bothered to fight Byrd.

People really think a guy who chased Holyfield, Tyson and Bowe, the greatest heavyweights for a decade, would then chicken out against BYRD?

And yes, i agree, Moorer was the only high profile southpaw heavyweight and then Byrd and nothing in between (not world class anyway).

I agree Golota wasn't the same fighter then. His jab at that point was nothing like the jab that he dominated Bowe with. Anyone know why that is, did he have an injury? I know he had a car crash at some point could that have ruined his jab?

Was there public interest in Klitschko/Leapai? Did Leapai pose any threat? Hell no, and Wlad would have been ridiculed if he vacated the WBO instead of just taking care of him in 5 easy rounds.

This is a BS excuse by Lennox, he wanted no part of southpaws like Byrd, Sanders and Moorer

 

Explain how it is a lie. He did NOT fight any southpaws. Theoretical wins don't count, especially when you vacate a world title to avoid them. So nobody rated Byrd now, despite being the IBF mandatory and former WBO champion:nut

Just imagine if Lennox fought Byrd & John Ruiz ?? Both in my opinion easy wins for Lennox . He would have been castigated like Mayweather & Jones jr for fighting cherry pics . Instead Lennox fought the guy most pundits were calling the next HW champ Michael Grant. Grant was fav going into fight too We all know what happened Lennox DESTROYED Grant. Lennox took on his #1 contender Vitali at a few days notice, even tho he was not fully in shape Nearly took Vitali's face off
