What if Byrd fought at his natural weight class, LHW? Or if he moved up to CW? Could he have won a title in either of those divisions?
I dont think he was fast enough or skilled enough, just like James Toney who was unsuccessful as a light heavy but found success as a Cruiser vs Jirov was better skilled against the big boys but did not know how to put a cap on weight growth at 5'9 Byrd when he used his skills had great success against the big boys who had less skill but moving down lost the edge in speed and craft, although he moved down at an advanced age IMO his strength was being more skilled than the guys who were just big
