Toney never called Byrd out that I remember. However, I do remember Byrd saying he would fight Toney until Toney lost his title for roid use.

Trust me Flat he did. I would have to go through my extensive boxing library to upload the video to prove it. But I'm sure somebody on this forum can vouch my claim.

The point still remains that Byrd had said that Toney and he would fight if Toney won the title. Toney did but then lost it for roid use. Thus there was no fight.

Even if Toney didn't get busted for roids I still believe Chrissy and Toney wouldn't have materialized because of style match ups - although JT did call out Byrd after he beat huggy bear John Ruiz.

Botton line is this, if Chrissy wants to drop down to Lt. Heavy or Cruiser that's his right. But at this point in his career it would be best for him to hang it up rather than be embarrassed by Dawson or somebody else.

    Yeah, probably true.

I met Tarver in Vegas a few years back. Cool dude. But I know Tarver is a one hit wonder. Chrissy fighting Tarver really doesn't prove much.

Calzaghe would murder him I'm afraid!

As for Tarver I think he could beat him but we need to know how he adapts in LHW!

Any way I think Tarver will lose to Clinton I just think Tarver is geting old and that Hopkins fight ruined him!

Aren't all of Byrd's 'fights' snoozers, Patsys? :D

I can't remember the last time Chrissy had an exciting fight. I take that back. Byrd vs Golota was good. Other than that I really have to ponder.

Maybe he will be when he is fighting in a weight he will be big and strong?

Lastly, when Byrd retires it will be a pleasure no longer hearing that yak mouth, hysterical acting Tracy Byrd at ringside. :patsch

LHW might be too low for Chris Byrd, I think he'd be more competitive at cruiserweight. But I also think that he's over the hill anyways, no matter what division. He still can take a heavyweight punch (well except for Klitschkos) and will not be as featherfisted at lower weights, so that might compensate a bit for it, making him still somewhat competitive. Tarvers over the hill too, but if he manages to get past Woods I think he'll also have enough left to beat Byrd at LHW.

btw JT called out Chris Byrd on numerous times, even live on TV after the Jirov fight if I remember correctly.

he did call him out...ater he beat jirov which is like abraham shouting at calzaghe.

there was no point. maybe he was a world class fighter but toney wasnt regarded as real threat or have that much sell in him.

i can understand it. byrd wanted to fight some bigger names and in the heavywieghts
