Flatlander: Hey Chris, is it true you going down to light heavy and is it also true that Calzaghe koed you in the third round as an amateur?

    Thanks Flatty,

Chris: The rumor is very true. I will be fighting light heavy. I am already weighing 180 lbs. And the rumor that Joe Calzahge KOed me is very UNTRUE. He wasn't even around when I was fighting amateur. If he beats Hopkins, then we can go at it.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Byrd

Shocks me but I wish him well.

    My follow up email

Hey Chris, I have been a big fan ever since the TUESDAY NIGHT FIGHT days. I use to email you quite a bit back then. You were always good enough to take the time to answer me. Since then I have been your biggest fan and crusader at the home of the Klitschkomaniacs , EASTSIDE BOXING FORUM.
I am surprised at your decision to go to lt heavy. That will be a real challenge. IF you don't mind I would like your impressions of some of my other fav fighters and possible future opponents for you.

Allan Green - he is cocky but has good power. He use to fight more like Floyd Mayweather but now he fights raw and throws bombs. He could make 175/180 pretty easily.

Calzaghe - for obvious reasons. I would never again bet against this man. I thought Lacy would kill him. However, he is about your age and undefeated. After beating him you would be considered what you should be. One of the most skilled fighters of the last 50 years.

Roy Jones - I have always wanted to see this fight.

Tarver - if he can get a title.

Glen Johnson - you gotta love this guy.

Chad Dawson - not one of my favs but this would be a great match up.

I am sorry but I can't stand Bornard Hopkins. LOL, sorry but he bugs me. I like Jermain Taylor a lot more. Even after his losses to Pavilik.

Two last questions. Why were you and Williamson and so timid in your fight. I am sorry but even I thought that was one of the most boring fights ever.

and lastly, Wladimir Klitschko, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!! LOL?

Oops sorry I lied, one more question. Do you think that Wlad would be consider the #1 hw in past eras? I mean other than size and height what does he have? He has a lazy jab and one mean righthand but if he was 6' 3" and 220 he wouldn't be anything special. He is a super hw fighting hws.

    Thanks Flatty

I never liked Byrd...until he fought KLIT with somebody else's style.

It was great to see him go forward and take one to land one. I think Byrd had the right idea, just not heavy enough hands. If someone with more power fought KLIT with the skill and courage Byrd had, Wlad would already be a memory.

Anyways, do you think he will use any of his Artist Formerly Known as Chris Byrd style, or will it be back to Boring Byrd in the light heavy weight division...???

That guy has rock solid chin, I have no idea how he will do at LHW but no one is knocking him out.
