As we all know Wlad Battered Byrd Bloody :!:

It's a big brother's job to beat up little brother. I'd guess Vitali will always have his psychological hooks in his champion little bro but I don't know...:think

Vitali would be far too durable, if they weren't bros could've been great

Actually I agree. "Young" Wlad was a great offensive fighter with a massive punch. He is one of the few people who I would say could KO Vits. If I consider the overall matchup though, I have to favour Vitali.

    "Could"

Many fighters could KO Vitali, they just could't connect enough often. Sanders, could and Wlad could also.

    Too skilled, how so?

Is it his skill in not being able to throw an uppercut?

Perhaps his skill in not being able to infight?

    Perhaps his predictable movement?

Or maybe his lack of head movement, OK when your the taller fighter but not so great against a taller fighter as we saw with Fury.

Vitali was the less talented fighter but in terms of actual learned boxing skills he was the more complete fighter. He was a better counter puncher, had the greater variety in shot selection, better upper body movement, slower feet but better placement and lateral movement.

Now these advantages may not be enough to overcome the clear speed and power advantages as well as the technical proficiency of the punches Wlad did throw but when you add in Vitali's durability and his work rate that would see Wlad struggle to match and Wlad's weaknesses then it's clear to me that Vitali would come out on top.

Wlad isn't going to win a decision, if it goes late he gasses having to keep up with the pace that Vitali sets and is either stopped late or out worked to a points loss. His best chance is to go for the early KO before the effort of keeping up with a bigger fighter throwing 60+ punches a round wears him down. Vitali threw over a 1000 punches against Johnson how does Wlad win a decision against a fighter throwing almost double your work rate?

    Agree.

I really thought Sanders could pull it off early in their fight but Vitali adjusted ever so slightly and made Corrie miss the rest of the fight. His skill is deceptive.

That's how I see it too. Wlad will have to open the taps and risk getting sparked himself. He has the skill and power to do it. But I still favour Vitali.

Wlad's speed not power would be why he beats Vitali. Wlad's jab and hook off the jab would be excellent against low hands, lean back defensive Vitali. Wlad's straight right as well. I actually believe Wlad is physically stronger on the inside than Vitali as well. Vitali's best attribute (volume hands), would leave him open and exposed to the speed of Wlad's quick straight shots. I do question how much punishment Wlad could take from Vitali however.

    Vitali takes this.

    Eleven times out of ten.

He wins this thing at the staredown.

Can you imagine Vitali putzing around for 12 rounds and failing to get aggressive against a Tyson Fury ?

Psychologically, a younger brother can never beat the older brother.

thats such a dumb thing to say

I know plenty of younger brothers who beat up on their 0lder brothers.

Ive seen dudes beat their own fathers up. "psychological" advantage my ass.

    It's called respect.

It may be a little over the top to say NEVER, but there is a decided psychological advantage that has nothing to do with respect.

And given that Vitali is the bigger, older, tougher brother, he has that advantage from the outset.

definitely cant imagine vitali clearly losing a fight and doing nothing like wlad... IM quite surprised that this whole forum supports vitali in this...thought majority would (wrongly) think wlad takes it

Wlad had a confidence deficiency now a days. So Vitali had bright chances
