Byrd's light heavy debut seems to have alot of people interested. I hope he makes the most of this attention. I bet he's gonna try his best to end this within the distance, as he knows alot of people will be watching.
Anyone seen the picture of Byrd? Christ, he looks like a buff Roger Mayweather. This content is protected
His body is ok. But his face looks awful! He looks unhealthy and almost skeletal like. I cant believe he skipped 200lbs in favor to make 175. His dropped 40lbs! Which is a tremendous amount of weight that his body has been comfortable at for years. Its not like he was fat out of shape heavy.
To be fair hes a naturally 160 - 168 pound man who bulked up and was able to hold his own with men weighing 220 plus, so all things considered I think he should be seen as a reasonable puncher. I'm really curious to see how he performs at LHW.
Here is the run down on Chris Byrd : At Heavy he was slick but boring as hell and had no power ..Maybe that might change at LHW .I don't know if you can have power while going down in weight ..This will all be answered in time ..
I really don't keep in touch with the heavyweights. I'm a littleman boxing fan. I can't remember if Byrd was in the fight that was in front of Ceasar's palace against some Russian Scrub...
I'll be surprised if Byrd is that successful at this stage in his career. He's up there in years and his reflexes have slowed. He's experienced and tough, but that can only take you so far.
From what we've seen with Roy and Antonio, cutting forty plus pounds quickly won't help his already slowing reflexes, especially in a division where the guys are even fast.
