According to the site that talks boxing. He says he's looking to fight again in March at Cruiser and that the performance against George was a fluke due to being weight drained.

I've always been a fan of Byrd's skills in the ring and love watching him box, but I think he's deluding himself here. His reflexes have gone, the speed is not the same, even his balance was off. Chris is a smart guy, hopefully he'll wise up and determine it's not worth it to step back in the ring as a fighter.

I agree whole heartedly with you, drunkin master. I was also a huge byrd fan. After wlad beat him to a pulp, he should've hung em up.

he's a fighter, and wants to get back the glory he had when he was the man and was getting big fights.

Its hard to let that go. Theres plenty of fighters that stuck around way past the time that they should of hung them up. Ask Roy, Holmes, Holyfield, Meldrick Taylor, Roberto Duran... the list goes on and on and on

Hope he doesnt get hurt. Its time to hang them up Chris. I actually think Chris could be a great announcer. Try that instead Chris:good

The second Wlad fight would have been the time to quit. It was obvious he had nothing left at that point.

Byrd's looked rough enough to call it a day in his last four fights - including the win over Marinaccio. Just go muzzle/molest your obnoxious/gorgeous wife, dude. :good

I'd like to see him as a trainer, actually. Be a hell of a defensive teacher, something I think a lot of today's trainers do not focus on.

Chris learned from his last fight against Sean George at the Cox pavillion last year that even though he felt great and looked awesome cosmetically , he was dreadfully drained of natural strength and power... At least adding some natural weight to meet cruiserweight rather than Heavyweight or Light heavy , its somewhatt of a happy medium.. it may work for him.. I hope so , he is a great advocate of the game, God bless Chris, he is a very good quality boxer who always gives his all........

The only positive here is that betting on the first cruiserweight he fights with any sort of decent power will be free money.

Why has Bryd elected to " walk fighters down " lately when that is clearly not his style? I still expect Byrd to fight elusive . That , as far as I am concerned is his style.

Walking Wlad down was a bad call . Even at LHW he is jsut standing in front of the guy WTF? Where is the footwork? Just because he moved down in weight doesn mean he can just stand in front of a guy and go toe -to - toe.

Jon Schneider could probably take care of Byrd at this point.
