I am not, I saw him coming up on Tuesday night fights and I forgot was it Showtime after Dark or HBO who brought up and comers Heavyweights...............I also remember the Jimmy Thunder stoppage. The fact remains that when Byrd stepped up he was either laid out, beaten like a drum or had to get Don King gift decisions, He was never ever a real player at Heavyweight, a paper champ with some ability but feather fisted in watching paint dry fights.
I’m not wearing rose tinted glasses. I’ve literally just typed that the win was unsatisfactory and they should have had a rematch. I don’t celebrate the win at all. I don’t celebrate any wins that are on a technicality. But again, Byrd contributed towards that injury with his movement. Nobody has said that Byrd was great or that anybody was afraid of him. (although a case can be made that Lennox didn’t want to fight him) However, you’re only fixating on Byrd here, whilst completely ignoring Wilder’s many deficiencies.
I agree that many referees wouldn’t have given him the chance to have gotten up. That’s for sure. However, he beat the count fair and square. He should have been awarded the win.
Earth to Loudon, The Judges scores are ABSOLUTE. It does not matter how You or I judge a fight...............even at Ringside. Chavez/Whittaker, Lewis/Holyfield, De laHoya/Trinidad etc etc etc......................the decisions Judges made in those fights are in the record books forever, full stop and that is all that counts. Fact.
1. Jack Reiss said he lost consciousness and gave him abnormal treatment in letting him continue. 2. Championships virtually never change hands under 12 round, ten point must system fights that feature the challenger getting dropped in separate round ls and the champion not getting dropped, nevermind that both landed fewer than ten punches in virtually all of the rounds.
That was his decision. But he gave him a ten count, as per the rules. Unless we change how the fights are scored, it shouldn’t matter how many times and when, he was dropped. Despite the knockdowns, the majority of people had Fury up on the cards. You’ll find that most people believe that Fury was unlucky to have gotten a draw. Most people had him winning.
I can deal with it fine. I’m just saying that you’re in a minority if you believe that Fury was lucky to have gotten a draw. Wilder is the one who was lucky to have gotten a draw.
Here again, the "Majority" or " Most people" means Jack..................the Judges had it a DRAW and that is absolute.
I don’t know why you’re being argumentative. Byrd has an official win over Vitali. Yet I’ve already told you that that can’t be celebrated.
