Thumbsuck, Byrd wins. He was definitely more proven at HW and could take a punch. Probably points, I doubt Byrd would be able to KO Spinks
Byrd surprises everybody and stops Spinks in the 11 th round. Spinks finds himself in the puzzled corner for once trying to get to grips with his opponent. A weary Spinks leaves himself open for a counter from Bryd and ends up half conscious on the floor.
I will go with Spinks by close but clear UD. Byrd massively overrated. Byrd had guts, but was no all time great. He did better against ponderous heavyweights. His natural frame is honestly smaller than Spinks, and he is not the superior boxer here. Power will not be a factor on either side.
I think that southpaw style is wrong for Spinks and he won't find anything that works. He gets peppered and the fatigue factor sets in from missing punches and he gets stopped late.
Byrd meets a better version of himself in Spinks and drops a decision; Spinks being that bit more awkward in his movement, defensively tighter and with a trickier delivery of quite probably the bigger armory.
