It be a little of a stretch, but I think that Byrd could outbox even a prime Foreman. Unless he gets caught with something stupid like in the Ibeabuchi fight of course. Foreman could be outboxed and was too slow imo to catch Byrd cleanly.
So who takes it prime vs. prime?

Not sure Jimmy Young could out box Foreman. Byrd is very hard to hit and that could frustrate Forman. Yet Big George does not need too many to get you outta there and Byrd does not have a great chin. Styles make fights

Young foreman stops him. I think Byrd would beat an old forman who was indeed slow and Byrd's cautious style would serve him well in that fight.... but I dont think young Foreman was really that slow. Byrd doesnt have the power to hurt Foreman so that means Foreman has 12 rounds in which to find Byrd and land on him. I think he will get him eventually, Foreman was great at cutting off the ring and putting on the pressure.

Foreman was also a great finisher, so he doesnt have to take him out with one punch, he only needs to get him stunned and he will make sure he follow up on it. And with Byrd not having much power, if they trade after he stuns Byrd, Foreman doest have to worry much about the counters hurting him when he is trying to finish Byrd.

Basically Byrd has to fight a perfect fight to get a decision. 15 rounds would be that much harder than 12 rounds. Foreman can afford to make some mistakes where as Byrd cannot.

Old Foreman may have been to slow and I see him losing a decision but Prime Foreman was relatively quick and would stop Byrd much like the Ike fight.

Foreman by ko. He knew how to cut off the ring effectively and would've slaughtered Byrd no matter how good his defense was. Byrd toke a flush left hook against Tua in the first round but had that been George who threw it then:dead. The older Big George would've been outboxed though had he not hit Byrd.

Yes, old George would do that to Byrd. But I think Byrd beats the old Foreman by UD.

A young George Foreman pummels Chris Byrd. Byrd might put up a decent fght for a few rounds gving George a few problems with lateral movement, but eventuall Big George would track his ass down and once he starts landing those sledgehammers of his the fight would essentially be over.
