When you think about it makes sense. Fighting old, past their prime fighters is Calslappy's repoitore.

Robin Reid, Richie Woodhall and Byron Mitchell are certainly decent fighters all of whom were at or very close to their best when Calzaghe beat them.

Are such fighters really worse than the likes of Vanderpool, Eastman and even Echols all of whom Hopkins gets credit for beating?

    No.

Calzaghe has a strong resume contrary to what many state.

referee: Joe Cortez | judge: Ted Gimza 115-112 | judge: Adalaide Byrd 113-114 | judge: Chuck Giampa 116-111 ~

Chris Byrd's sister scored the Hopkins fight against Joe Calzaghe. Now consider she willl likely be warmed to the slappy style, which bears some similarity to that of Chris Byrd's. It is quite clear Calzaghe must have beaten up here brother.

How the hell else could a female score a fight against someone with Calzaghe's looks?

OMG that would be the most prestigous slap-boxing match ever. I gotta go with Byrd though, I liked his style better.
