Chris Byrd is actually a really good fighter. For a guy who should of spent his career at LHW or CW, he accomplished quite a lot in the HW division.
chris byrd was a way better fighter than mathis...and a southpaw...............tyson looked horrid that nite....go watch the video
I already have seen that fight. Granted it was some time ago, but anyway. Tyson had ring rust in that match, but he warmed up and eventually caught Mathis. Against Byrd it would probably lasted longer, but I see Tyson eventually getting to Byrd and knocking him out too.
just finished watching it... to me it seemed like Buster Mathis was real game in this fight. He had a great gameplan, which he would use his head as a advantage, and just engage with Tyson in real close range(inside) and with his clever cover ups. and honestly, Mathis was doing such a good job in those first 2 rounds. he looked like a cruiserweight James Toney in there! but than again, he wasn't facing a bum, he was facing Mike Tyson. The man who has the speed, the power, and the movements to knock out anyone in HW history. Byrd had good tactics as a fighter and good skills and sportsmanship when he was in the ring, but after viewing this fight, a prime HW Byrd( Golota / Holyfield fights) he'd get his ass whipped. Mike is just too good to lose to Chris... Even if Chris outboxes him for a round or maybe 4 tops, he would eventually get caught by Tyson's speed and extraordinarily power. Tyson T/KO 4
Chris Byrd is on PED's he went form 165 to heavyweight. How come he didnt do so great and knock everybody out
