Both at their best? IMO,Byrd s defensive mastery and angles would make Razor look one paced and frustrated. Ruddock has some big moments, but not enough to drop or stop him, and he fades late. Chris gets a Unanimous decision.
The Ruddock around the time of the first Tyson fight beats any version of Byrd. And, Ruddock had looked very good for several years leading into the Tyson fight. Byrd's only chance is against the later version of Ruddock that lost to Morrison.
This is one of the rare occasions where Ruddock’s spastic and borderline brain-dead style might actually be to his benefit. Ruddock’s right hand and predictable left at long range ain’t touching Byrd, but he was good at walking people down behind a high guard all to the way to the clinching range and then whipping uppercuts on the inside. He probably does that here the whole way through and slowly grinds Byrd out before Byrd just can’t take it anymore and collapses.
This would be a different kind of fight for Ruddock. Young boxer who can move and had the ability to linger in there with big men who could punch. I wouldn’t bet either way but wouldn’t be shocked if Byrd got a decision
