I know man! I don't get these guys. FFS. Awkward converted southpaw who wasn't worthy of carrying Byrds jockstrap was outboxing Wilder before being stopped in the 9th rd. How often was Byrd stopped in his prime? He went deep with far more talented and dangerous opponents. Give me a break. Byrd schools this clown.
Needing punching power and strength against Wilder. Byrd doesn't have it , you can only run away from Wilder from so long
Wilder KO first half of the fight. Byrd dosent have style to walk him down and its too dangerous to stand in front of him whole match.
Lets not forget that Middleweight Chris Byrd was able to dis-arm Vitali Klitschko stopping him & giving him his first career loss Byrd vs Wilder, will depend on what version of Deontay Wilder shows up....If its the low-punch rate patient-stalker version of Deontay Wilder, Byrd has a good chance at surviving into the Later Rounds when Wilder becomes very desperate. If its the high energy Deontay Wilder being himself, Byrd will get KOed in the first Round, due to the unfavorable environment created by the high Velocity KO punches flying all over the place, one of those punches glancing Byrd beak will be too much for the natural Middleweight. Middleweight Chris Byrd as the Heavyweight World Champion was the most hated Heavyweight Champion of all-time, probably surpassing Jack Johnson. If he existed in this era, he would have been forced to fight Deontay Wilder numerous times...
Wilder isn't Vitali or Wlad he wouldn't have the success they had from the outside because he doesn't have a tenth of their boxing ability. We'd definitely see Byrd outbox Wilder for long periods of the fight. I mean Szpilka was giving him all kinds of problems until he landed that right hand. And that's what it always comes down to. Does Wilder land that right hand? Maybe he does, but Fury took it, Duhaupas took it for many rounds, so did Molina. Byrd isn't s china chinned as Szplika either. I think Byrd has some rough moments, maybe even picks himself up of the floor but he probably wins a decision. He's no stranger to disarming big punchers, he did beat Tua and Williamson who could both crack. I'd say he out points Wilder 8 times outta 10, but sometimes Wilder would find the big shots to take him out, but he only has an outside punchers chance.
He wouldn't have too. Just because that's how Fury did it most recently doesn't mean that's the only way to beat him, a 50% Fury out boxed him in the first fight and Byrd could do the same as he's just as elusive. Byrd in his prime went 12 rounds vs Wlad who not only was a far more skilled boxer than Wilder but I think hits harder. No reason Byrd couldn't go the distance in a fight he's winning vs Wilder when he went the distance in a fight vs Wlad who was beating him.
Chris Byrd will always be remembered for force-feeding Vitali Klitschko his first sdefeat, so its logical to see people high on Chris Byrd
