I am supporting chris 100% and i am touched that its his main goal to try and get into the HOF.... i will be backing him in probably every fight he is in and i hope he can really turn the division on its head.

Chris Byrd has ALWAYS been the man.

Considering this guy weighs, soaking wet, 210 pounds, and fought the huge guys that he did (BOTH Klitschko, Ike, Golota, McCline, etc...) is astounding.

I think he could literally CRUSH some of these LHWs...

I agree that Byrd will probably retain a heavyweight mentality when in against the light heavies, and I think he'll have a mental advantage.

I wonder how effecitve whatever power he had at heavy, will be at light heavy.

I've always been a Byrd fan, but he's got to prove if this move is good for him or not.

I personally think it won't be. Losing weight doesn't bring back lost reflexes and speed. If his declines in these were evident against relatively slow fighters like Wlad and Povetkin, they'll be far more noticeable against guys at 174.

He wasn't a big puncher at heavy, more of a quick, stinging puncher, and I don't get how he's suddenly going to be knocking people just because the weight class is lower.

That said, it's an interesting experiment and I hope it works out for him, but when you really break it down, you have to have serious reservations.
