If Byrd spent his career fighting at a more natural weight for him like CW or LHW do you think he could have become an ATG? I do considering what he achieved at HW and how undersized he was for that division.
A lot of it would depend on how well he could maintain a lower weight and what sort of consequences it may or may not have. He fought about 95% of his career above 200 lbs, with the exception of maybe 4 or 5 bouts. Two of them came in his first two outings as a pro while the other two came on the tale end of his career.. All of which were against mediocre opponents and one of which even beat him.. Hard to say for sure.
