Agreed. Up until that point it was the most spectacular 6 seconds of boxing in Johnny's entire career. What a damn shame. :-(
I think this fight has to be contributed to the dynamic style and skills of chris byrd, and less to some overrating of Tua
Hurt? No way. Tua was hit often in the body, and never backed up. How can you say he was hurt? Ronnie Shields, his former trainer, said a right hand by LL in the first round was the only time Tua has been hurt.
I'm an idiot cause I disagree with you? You're the idiot. Yes, I watched the video, and the whole fight. What makes you say he was hurt? Wincing? Backing away? Tua was talking to him the whole time. Where's your proof? Idiot!
4 real, Tua don't feel pain..he not human, more machine, call him teh Terminator for realz. His face got puffy against Rahman cuz an alergery. He also fail cuz his trunks to tight. haha, well what we can say is that byrd, love him or hate him, could be a masterful boxer and the best heavyweight spoiler of the past decade. i rate him up there with tony tubbs in terms of talent (that's a lot of Ts...)
I don't think Tua was Hurt, but he was definitely tired and getting his ass kicked, if Byrd was a bigger puncher Tua would've been in trouble.
Rahman got robbed bigtime, no one thought he would win cause he came in out of shape BUT evenat nearly 260 he showed why Tua could never be champ. As for why Tua went down, I honestly think he just lost his footing, that shot from Rahman was nothing more than a glancing shot as he was retreating.
Byrd was definately ballsy for getting in the ring with puncher like Tua, having no power of his own. He boxed masterfully before getting KOed. I've always found him underrated.
